Assuming he's been well advised over the years, poor kid probably has no more than $10-30m in his porftolio.... Tragic!

All former Wizards go on to be good somewhere else; and usually win rings.

Our current SFs:

3-16 for 14 points (8 reb, 3 assists, 1 turnover, and I assume Deni played defense).
0-7 for 2 points (4 reb, 4 assists, 2 turnovers)

I think Portland has the advantage even so. We will see how George pans out though; it's very very early in his career.

I wasn’t trying to make a point I’m on team Deni although I like George despite his bad shooting to start the season

Rui Hachimura is putting up 16.7 pts, 7 rebs, and 2 asts at .500 3pt shooting and .554 TS% in 37 minutes per game.

The Lakers are 3-0.

The fan base knew Huff was a keeper, anyone recall what happened? It was a numbers game if I recall.

I wrote a post before last season desperate for the Wizards to keep Jay Huff. He's just a player who's easy to root for, puts in great defensive effort, and can shoot -- y'know, the opposite of what we sat through last year. I know nothing really matters in relation to the timeline the Wizards are on, but I still wish he were on the team. Congratulations, Jay: https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/277845/Grizzlies-Convert-Jay-Huff-From-Two-Way-To-Standard-Four-Year-Deal

You realize those are the same numbers he had with us, right?
Poor team defender and below average inefficiency driven by unsustainable 3pt shooting.

No, those aren't "the same numbers" he had with us, & in particular his shooting last year was by no means "below average efficiency."

His TS% last year was .628 -- way way above average.

Unlikely as it may seem, Rui has turned himself into a pretty good player -- way to go, Rui!

PIF... Lets walk through this.
Through 4 years and almost 6k minutes Rui had a TS of 55%. Then last year he had a tremendous shooting year and had a TS of 63%. He is now at...you guessed it... 55%. And that is with him shooting 60% on 3's.
His other numbers (Rebounds, Assist, blocks, steals, usage, fouls, FTr, etc.) are all the same.
His drop in turnovers are helpful I guess, but the offensive rebounding and 3pt shooting are clearly unsustainable.

Again, he is still the same guy. Really good shooter and man defender, but his poor passing and team defense highlight his poor IQ/awareness.
But I wish him luck. I always really liked Rui

I still don't regret trading Rui one bit. He is a serviceable 4th starter fully paid at $18M a year. We essentially traded him for Bagley plus 5 second round picks (if you factor that we used his salary savings to acquire Bagley and two SRP's). BTW, one of those picks was used to move up to draft Coulibaly (instead of Jarace Walker). Others were used to move up to draft Kyshawn George.

Rui has improved and progressed as a player, good for him and the Lakers.

Thank you for this information.

Pif and nate, I'm opinionated but not necessarily informed like I once was. I am open-minded and able to admit when I'm wrong.

Lakers are 30-13 since last season with Rui starting. He's become a viable starter but he benefits tremendously from the gravity of the other four starters.

I don't miss Rui at all. For a rebuilding team he isn't the type of guy you give a big 2nd contract. He is the type of guy you sign for cheap on his 3rd contract after the league realizes his limitations.
