F ESPN. They would love it if we had Gilbert and he said something crazy, like he'd put up 50 against the Celtics in his blog. If you do something outrageous, they'd follow you. If you just have solid players who are solid citizens, that doesn't make ESPN. I rarely watch them, save for their college coverage, which has improved.

The problem was Stevenson and Daniels don't have the quickness and handles to make them pay. Arenas would have been going to the hole all night long with that kind of pressure. He would have made the Celtics pay for pressuring so much.
I thinks you may have selective Gil memory. Gil would have been jacking 30 ft 3 and arguing with the refs about every call. He would have also made a 40 pt prediction.
With GA we would have had 3 player shooting more the 17 shots each.
7-17 CB
8-21 AJ
8-21 GA
we would have been 23-59
DS wouldn't have been 4-10 and 5-7 from 3 with 16 pts and 4 steals
BH wouldn't have been 4-7 and 6-6 from the line with 14 pts
We wouldn't have played a close game but instead there would have been runs by both teams. We wouldn't have played the D we played.
GA has a long way to go before he fits in with this team and before you can say he talent and be focused to help this team be better with him then without.
You cant just take GA drives, isos to end a game and hot 3 nights without getting the rest of Gil. I doesnt work like that. Hopefully GA can change so you do get those good things along with solid D, but I have never seen that Gil before so we will have to see what he can do to change.

He's new to the squad and hasn't play but 10 minutes this season but his enthusiasm and encouragement for the guys on the floor is very apparent. He had to be held back from jumping onto the court after CB hit his money lay up. If his play on the floor is just as passionate as when he is cheering for his teammates on the bench, we should see some good play out of him.
He did have one aggressive move to the hoop that shined. Not sure if it was offense to D. I think he drove. OP is a solid kid. He is good for the team.

not only is ESPN not covering this, Comcast choose to talk about the lady Terps and baseball steroid gayness...and I love how its, "well Boston lost 3 of its last 4...they're certainly on a slide" and theres absolutely no mention of who HANDED THEM 2 OF THE DAMN LOSSES. Screw you ESPN...you suck donkey balls

THE WIZZINATOR wrote:All you people questioning how we'd be WITH arenas... that's just silly. PERIOD. He's one of the top 10 players in the league. We have shown we CAN play well without him, and the team has evolved defensively during that time, however we still lack the firepower we need to be a powerhouse team. You add Gil back into the equation and this team is a top 5 team in the league. Now let's stop the crazy gil hating talk because it's just a silly conversation.
+100
And can there be any doubt he's dying to play with this squad now?
He has to figure if we can do this back2back without him, we could
definitely go to the Finals with him.

AJ was missing layups during the game, refs were making every call against us, the Wizards looked dogged tired to begin the 4th quarter, and the Celtics defense was pretty stifling until the end. It was simply perserverence and great D by the Wiz kids. I think the Wizards are finally starting to buy into the idea that defense wins games, because itssomething that you can always bring, night in and night out, regardless if your shots are falling.
I can understand why some people are wondering if this team is better without Arenas. However, I keep thinking HOW BETTER this team can be with him in the line-up. If he buys into the way the Wizards are playing now, this team can be one of the best in the NBA. We are playing extremely well right now, we are fooling ourselves if we think we are a championship caliber team. With Gilbert buying into the team concept and team Defense, this team can be a championship caliber team.

Agreed, provided Blacthe, Pecherov, Young and McGuire continue to improve. If those guys grow and Gil comes back and fits in, we're contenders.
don't forget Mason....he's been a much bigger factor than DMac.
But consider -
what's happened since the players insisted on a locker room
re-arrangement which happened AFTER 2 blowout wins? We lose
to a pretty good HOU team but then win 3 straight including
this improbable win.
Anybody want to make fun of Ready to Rule now? At 0-5, that
was a sad joke. Now, who knows?
We're definitely going to overtake ORL.
