Thats how it works in college basketball now. You got one shot at winning with freshmen and sometimes sophomores, then your window is closed. Gone are the days of four year seniors(guys like Kaminsky are the exception).
Kaminsky didn't start all four years.
Maryland is going to have the luxury of having Dodd and Cevosky coming off the bench next season as junior and sophomore players, respectively. They're going to practice another season against Carter (who was an ineligible player but with the team this year) and against Stone for one year.
Assuming Stone and Carter leave as one and done players, Dodd and Ceko will likely be four year players, eventually.

And then we reload with guys like Anthony Cowan etc.
Granted, nothing short of a final four appearance will be considered a success next season. Regardless, the program likely will be able to reload. I think with many McDonald's All Americans coming in the future. Trimble is the first of many in the Turgeon era. Stone will be the second but not the last.

Diamond Stone's father details why his son decided to play at Maryland
Diamond Stone's decision to choose Maryland over Wisconsin, Connecticut and Oklahoma State was influenced by a "bevy" of factors, not the least of which was a before-and-after presentation showing the transformation of former Terps center Alex Len from a skinny Ukrainian teenager to a player taken No. 5 in the 2013 NBA draft.
While Robert Stone said Wednesday that he and his wife, Cynthia, were impressed with the diversity of the student body in College Park as well as the proximity of the campus to thriving African-American communities, the presentation played a big role for their son, ranked the No. 2 high school center in the country.

Big piece in The Movement
The next big commitment that could have a huge impact on a program’s recruiting is Dwayne Haskins Jr., who I think is headed to Maryland. And if Haskins picks the Terps, it will be a huge get in terms of recruiting other athletes. He’s one of the biggest name quarterbacks in the history of the state of Maryland (in fact he’s the highest rated ever) and he is very popular among in-state recruits. Throw in that his cousin is four-star Jovani Haskins, who could help him recruit New Jersey if he follows suit, and "The Movement" as Maryland puts it, will be in full effect.
The Terps need Haskins as badly as any recruit since Stefon Diggs and if they get him, watch out for them as a surprise recruiting force in the Big Ten this year and in 2017.

Yeah, sources say Maryland didn't push that hard for him.

Trimble is deadly when shooting pull up jumpers.
Layman, who I am now happy with for his choice to return, throws nice pocket passes to Trimble and he is great at rolling and finishing on screen roll. http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/terp ... story.html
Next year I expect Nickens to be stronger and a double figure scorer, even as a sixth man.
Brantley figures to start as will Carter and Stone.
I expect Drexel transfer Damian Lee will choose another school besides Maryland. He averaged 21.6 points per game this season, but he won't average near as many field goal attempts or minutes if he chooses Maryland. He should go somewhere like Kentucky.
The Terps are going to be loaded next season. It may be the best of all Terps teams.
I respect Turgeon for honoring commitments to Nickens, Wiley, and Brantley. Those guys and Romelo Trimble should form a nice backcourt.
Lee would have had to sacrifice minutes and shots. Trimble, Stone, and Carter will be doing a lot of scoring. Layman also. Sometimes less offense and more selfless play is better.

Sulaimon's got only 1 more year of eligibility. Combine that with whatever he did to actually get kicked off the Duke team and him often being in Coach K's doghouse... I'd pass. If I was advising him, I'd suggest going to the D League. He definitely has NBA ability, but he appears to have some type of serious issue.

Turgeon has a good relationship with his family.
Recruited him when he was at Texas A&M.
