Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
Huge moves just announced!
Splitter to ATL
Spurs keeping Danny Green 4/$45M
This likely means Spurs getting LMA.
Hawks shifting Horford to the 4 and letting MIllsap go. Good move for them. May not want to get rid of Nene juuuuuuust yet with that frontcourt duo.

Damn, LMA could be just what the Spurs need to get another ring or two. I am so envious of that organization....
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Teams throwing around crazy money. All those poor small market teams, won't somebody think of the poor billionaire owners having to pay all those guaranteed contracts?

Wow, the Hawks will look very different. And may end up ultimately being better built for a playoff run with a Splitter/Horford frontcourt (even if they start slowly in the regular season getting going). But I want to see how they replace Carroll before getting too concerned.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
Wait...what?!?!
Are they going to play Milsap at SF and slide Korver down to SG? Or use Splitter as a 3rd big?
Or maybe they will try to flip Splitter for a wing player?
Jeff Zillgitt: As Hawks finalize Splitter trade and lose DeMarre Carroll to the Raptors, front office remains confident they can re-sign Paul Millsap.

If they keep Millsap, they'd likely use him, Splitter and Horford in a 3-big rotation. Plenty of minutes to go around.
Thabo, if healthy, will play lots of 3. Plus some cheap FA's I'd assume.
If Millsap goes to ORL, I'd keep an eye on Tobias Harris to ATL.

With the Carroll signing, did the Raptors officially take themselves out of the Durant sweepstakes?

My math might be off, but I think so. Derozan is looking for $25 mil per, if they bring back Amir and use JV's cap hold they're right around next year's salary cap.

Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 5
That Carroll contract is going to look putrid by January. Budhenholzer (sp?) should get 50% commission.
Interesting take I read, Raptors HAVE to overpay. NBA players dislike the market/customs etc and the tax rate is astronomical.
Carroll's effective tax rate in Toronto will be (ouch!) around 58%. Millsap in Florida (if he goes) will be around 35%.

Amazing, the Spurs never over-pay for a player.

Danny Green was damn near out of the league 4 years ago
He knows what Pop and that organization has done for him and that this system is a great fit.

190 million of power forwards... not including Sideshow V. Gulp. But, if they win a championship or 2, it's worth it.
Still doesn't rule out the chance of a trade.
