Yep, since the 1700s... there doesn't need to be proof, just anecdotal evidence. Instead of talking about what to do with falling crime rates... some are fixated on specific issue.

White House persuaded DHS to cut short Nicaraguans’ humanitarian protection

As Nicaragua descends into chaos, 5,000 Nicaraguans living in the US are being told to leave — thanks to a last-minute White House phone call.

The executive branch has broad authority to grant TPS, and to decide whether or not to extend it for any given country. But that decision is supposed to be based on the conditions in the country in question, and it’s supposed to be made by the homeland security secretary herself.

The lawsuit, filed by a group of TPS holders and their US citizen children (with assistance from the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California and the National Day Laborers Organizing Network), accuses the Trump administration of making the decision to strip TPS from Nicaraguans and others to advance its own immigration agenda — and reverse-engineering its analysis to match the strategy dictated to them by the top.

Had a White House official not had that “discussion” with acting Secretary Duke, it seems, 5,000 people would now have six more months to prepare their return to Nicaragua (a country that’s since descended into serious civil unrest) or try to make plans to flee elsewhere.

police called to scene. arrest someone. crowd attacks them as person being arrested fully resists.

I personally cant wait until all cops across the nation sit in their cars and refuse to answer a single call for a month. cant effin wait!!

Your reaction says a lot more about you than anything else.

To be clear, I respect that those policemen didn't deserve to get attacked - even it if was just one attacker who barely kicked one officer twice, and the attacker looked like he was maybe 120 lbs soaking wet and could barely keep his balance when he did "attack". Someohow, I don't think that calls for all policemen to stop answering calls for a month. I think they've been trained to handle that type of behaviour, and it's part of the job - as it always has been.

ive been trying to tell you guys for over 2 years. Cops are already NOT taking the calls.

What would you do if you were a cop?

"shot fired" west side of chicago. what would you do?

A citizen makes the call, shots fired. cops show up. and its a kill or be killed situation. You think see a gun but maybe its phone...maybe its a gun...light is low. people are moving around quickly...someone is always screaming ("he's over there!!! he's over there!!! he's got a gun!!!!!)...you think someone innocent is about to be killed...maybe a child...maybe your fellow police officer?

And if you make the wrong decision you either die. Your children no longer have a father. and your wife suffers to pay the bills and maybe your kids end up on the street? Or you end up in jail, arrested, prosecuted for unlawful use of deadly force and villified in the media for years to come.

What would you do when you get the call???

if you over react and shoot a guy who just has a phone in his hand? even if this is a bad guy that was waving a gun around minutes prior...or a drug dealer that deals to kids...or a guy that was previously beating up his baby mama or wife or girlfriend minutes prior? You shoot him and if its a bad shot, you lose your job and maybe your liberty and villified in the media.

Would you take the call????? Would you????? or would you show up late....put on the sirens and lights...hang outside for a bit....wait til all the bad guys get a way???

Because I can assure that cops are doing more and more and more of the latter.

Which is why shootings in chicago have been rising steadily for over a decade. because they know they can get away with it.

we keep villifying the cops for mistakes and we are going to end up either having to pay cops 150K per year starting or more and/or less and less cops responding to the call. Why would they? sense of duty to people they dont even know over sense of duty to themselves and their own family???? Just to do a job?????? makes no sense. Its illogical.

And thats not the police force i want. If ever i make the call, shots fired at or near my residence or business, i want those cops racing to the scene and ready to deliver deadly force to save people's lives. I want them trained well. I want cameras everywhere...and if they make a bad shot? pay the family. pay them millions. retrain the officer and investigate...if this is a bad cop? then get rid of them and even prosecute them...but...we need to reduce the political tempurature here..and keep cops racing to the scene to defend the public. or else we are going to end up (paying for) supervised neglect instead of an actual police force. In which case we are just better off (keeping our money) and arming ourselves and going wild wild west style.

one way or another we need a deterrent to crime and criminals. FTR, I'm ok with either. Wild wild west or fear of getting caught with a real and punitive justice system or even deadly force. One way or another criminals must be deterred.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

SD, look at the video you posted as your prime example of violence against police. Look at it.

Even an over-the-hill out of shape dentist/real estate mogul could handle that attacker - much less an in-shape well-trained member of the police force who's not a wuss and wants to do good.

What's changed as far as crime over the decades - other than your man Trump insighting racial divides in the last year and a half? Fear of getting caught on video - lol, are you serious?

cops are retiring in record numbers in chicago right now.<--especially all the sfrican american cops i know. They just dont want to deal with this crap. starting pay is $60K and $74K in year 2!!

Thats is how much it now costs to hire cops!!

This is NOT going to end well. my real estate taxes are doubling on all of my properties as we speak. from an affordable 5K to $10-12K.

so now people are selling...they are going to move to the burbs!!

rents are rising to cover taxes! section 8 rents will need to rise as well. its a bad mix. unsustainable.

cities are getting more and more expensive and this is going to continue to occur in cities across the USA. Rinse and repeat.

I cant imagine how are cities will look in 20 years....here what i suspect...super wealthy in one area. super poor in another...full on segregation. high crime on one and no crime in another. its not fair...and it will appear split on racial divides.

only the citizens can fix this. the citizen must get control of their own neighborhoods. they must vote for better p0licy. they must protect their hoods from the criminals. and allow the police to do their jobs.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

You can still be conservative, be anti-socialism, pro-capitalism, while at the same time recognizing the dog whistle.

This is about basic human decency.

Candace Owens is despicable.

Actually, it isn't the president that caused the Illinois/Chicago crisis and rising taxes. Nor does the retirement of older police officers have anything to do with the racial tensions - it is because they are an aging demographic. Nor does Chicago reflect the situation in all cities. Sigh...

Sure, blame it on the Asian demographic. Oh, he said aging? Well, blame it on Google Chrome. Or... take the old Chicago people out back and shoot them with automatic weapons. Then have a... random dentist pull out their gold crowns, so we can cut taxes and pay off the deficit!

Trump cancels scheduled pay raise for federal workers.
Here's a fox link for the few trumpers in here.

Trump boasts about booming economy and low unemployment but we cant afford the pay raise due to the tax cuts for the wealthy. So the rich get huge pay increases while normal workers get their scheduled raises canceled. Nice one.
