Griffin was settling for jumpers because McGee was patrolling the paint. McGee mainly guarded DeAndre Jordan and he often came over as a help defender.

Well, he better enjoy it. He isn't likley to get the better of Blake much throughout his career. The play-by-play report indicated 12 of McGee's 19 points came on alley-oops.

Wow. I'm glad his offensive game is developing so rapidly. What is that? His go-to move in the halfcourt. Hey, as long as he is athletic and can make YouTube videoes of him doing Transformers' voices I'm sure you guys will still keep claiming he is going to be a great one.
You can't blame McGee for getting his points on alley oops, especially if the Clippers couldn't stop it. It's a very good skill to have especially after the Wizards offense penetrated the lane. BTW, no one is claiming that McGee is better than Blake Griffin; although he has a long way to go before becoming the best power forward since Tim Duncan. But if McGee keeps progressing, he can become a solid backup center.
I think what's encouraging is that Javaris Crittenton is establishing great chemistry with Javale McGee who assisted on 4 of the 6 alley oops. You have to figure guys like Gilbert and Foye could aso throw it up there to McGee once they get to the rim.
What really made McGee's game impressive was on the defensive end where he played solid man to man defense on DeAndre Jordan and was a great help defender with 7 blocks.
But he's still far from a finished product. One good summer league game won't cut it. But it's a start; hopefully McGee can show that he can bring consistent effort from game to game.
