He played 39 minutes in that game. It was his first double-double in over a month.

Rubio has more double-doubles than Wall and averages fewer minutes. For a first-year NBA player, Rubio is doing quite well.

I don't understand what you're trying to say; MIN has better finishers than us, Wall on that team would probably average just as much... :-?

Rubio is averaging 10.6 ppg shooting 36%. His numbers don't look nearly as good as Wall's rookie numbers or Wall's numbers this year. Plus he has gotten progressively worse as the season has progressed.

Rubio plays with guys who can make shots, including the 3 point champ. It is much easier to get assists when you aren't playing on one of the worst shooting teams in the league. Rubio plays with Love, Beasley, Dwill and Ridnour who can all make perimeter shots.

Rubio's a fun player to watch. I don't think anyone's trying to take anything away from him. As a rookie PG, he was having a pretty good (if not terribly efficient) season. I think we're all just reacting to the seething undertow of "(X) PG is better than Wall!" that keeps cropping up, and in most cases, is just a grass-is-greener fantasy founded on flawed premises.

Wall is definitively a better player than Rubio. Hands down. Rookie Wall was too. The number of double-doubles they've had is a strangely arbitrary and relatively meaningless assessment. Ok, I think that covers everything. :)

Wall will definitely be better than Rubio the rest of the season. (Rubio is going to be out with a torn ACL.)

Gerald Green was the lead scorer for the Nets: 23 min, 10-15 shots for 26 points :onfire:
I wish we had given him a call-up.

Spectacular dunk but he probably better not do it again. Even he understands what would have happened if he missed.

“I’ve done it like if I’m messing around in pregame warmups, or maybe like layup lines,” Green said.

“A teammate asked me, ‘Next time you get a chance to do a dunk, do something nasty.’ So I tried. I’m just so glad it went in because if it didn’t, I don’t know where I’ll be.”

But at least his coach didn't pull a Flip Sanders. Remember Javale's made dunk? Remember Nick Young's failed 360?

Green’s head hovered over the rim, causing the Prudential Center crowd to go crazy twice — once when it happened, again when it was replayed on the JumboTron. “Man! I’ve seen a lot in my career — and that was special,” Avery Johnson said. “Pretty special. And it was a pretty on-time and on-target pass (from Brooks), and I guess that’s gonna make a lot of highlights.”

Honestly, the difference is Green made his shot and it was all-time dunk for the ages.

But if he's played for the Wizards Green would be back on his way to D-League.

Even with all the good from this game, Green accidentally tipped in the winning basket for the other team.

So maybe Saturday’s dunk wasn’t too surprising. His final stat line, however, was abnormal for a D-League call-up, Lin-esque, if you will: Green hit 10 of his 15 shots, including 4 of 8 from beyond the arc.

But he also accidentally tipped in the Rockets’ go-ahead bucket off a defensive rebound with 1:03 remaining.

Gerald Green hopefully will play hard and not too flashy so he can have a nice career. Maybe his flashy game can be his trademark and all goes well.

Griffin has some competition for Dunk of the Year, the Green dunk is either # 1 or #2.

The Knicks are 2-7 since Melo came back. They spent years trying to clear the capspace to be able to sign big name free agents. Then when they finally get the space they give up a bunch of good players for a guy who doesn't fit with Amare.

smh

But Carmelo is a star! Just look at his points per game!

Never liked the trade. I understand that Melo and Amare got benched in the 4th quarter last game.

Walsh never wanted to make the trade. He wanted to wait until the offseason. If Melo wanted to come to New York he would have signed with New York. D'Antoni is probably getting canned too.

LOL

It's like the knicks had their mirage (Linsanity) that looked so real, and then it just vanishes. It is like Lucy pulling the football away when Charlie Brown tries to kick it.

So, is the problem that Lin and Amare and Melo can't play together, or that the league has scouted out Lin's weaknesses, or a combo of both?

The kryponite to Lin's success has been found - one way or t'other. Lintonite?

Hmm, I wonder how Melo and Wall would work together. Blatche for Melo? Melo's trade value is probably negative - considering his contract is Rashard-like, and the Knicks lose games when he plays.

The real problem with the Knicks IMO is not Jeremy Lin.

Jared Jeffries with Chandler makes their defense one of the best. Also, Jeffries on offense didn't stand in one spot. He facilitated and made sure spacing was good. Landry Fields and Steve Novak were killing it, and Lin was the floor general before Carmelo came back. Carmelo with Amare combine to defend extremely poorly.

Folks will say they played weak opponents during their 7-0 run a while back. They will say Lin was a fluke. I don't think that is the problem at all. The problem with the Knicks is dumb decisions and reliance on "stars". The chemistry of the team has been destroyed. You just don't trot out guys like JR "nude tweet" Smith and Baron Davis and let them take minutes from guys like Shumpert, who have been there. Making Jeffries inactive is a horrible decision.

D'Antoni is probably going to get fired and Lin will be ridiculed, but the real culprit is Carmelo. He makes the ball stick and he doesn't defend well.

They went from playing beautiful basketball with scrubs (Jeffries, Walker, Shumpert, Novak) to playing stand and watch Jeremy turn it over or JR hoist one up, and Melo will bail us out on isolation.

I hate seeing what the Knicks did and I am not a NYK fan.

Oh, check out the nerdnumbers on the Knicks and see who is third from the bottom:

http://www.nerdnumbers.com/splits?team= ... F11%2F2012

(Jeremy Lin is balling for them. He is not the problem.)
