Good game or not, he sucked on that play. Only person to blame more then him was Randy for putting those 5 out there together.

I think the EGhead is a little higher up in the blame hierarchy, since he stocked the team with such stellar talent.

You could tell that Phil & Glenn were holding back all year and giving him chance after chance. They just knew he would improve. I mean, he had to. Its impossible to get worst. Sure enough though, he has gotten even worse then when he staarted and that was already horrible.

I actually feel bad for him though. He has that older/serious face so he looks like he's a grown man that can take it all but if you stare at him long enough, he actually starts to look like a young inexperinced guy who is trying to figure it out and is feeling like he's letting everyone down. Makes me want to root for him. He's actually the 1st one to cheer on the sidelines alot of times and the 1st one to jump up and run on teh floor after the opposing team calls a TO because we just went on a mini run. I like that. He's being a good teammate and I can tell everyone wants him to do well.

I think he just needs to let loose. I feel like he's holding himself back. Just say "F It" and go out there and ball. You suck without that anyways so you might as well just go for it. Its like a boxer who is just being content with losing as long as he goes the distance. He's scared to take the risk to go all out because he may get KO but Maynor is about to get KO anyways. Porter is already back and will have his legs in a couple of weeks. We will also have Beal & Webster back. Witt still likes Temple some and Rice played solid D last game. If Maynor doesnt take it now, he wont get any more chances anytime soon

Sorry. That suck ass line up played 1:10 seconds following 2:15 second of

Maynor, Otto, Singleton, Ves, Kevin

We never saw anything that terrible the rest of the game. If Randy wanted to introduce Otto to the NBA at SG, that was a stupid line up to try it in.

Maynor just doesn't fit this roster. For him to maximize his limited skills..generally running the offense, assists, some rebounds and shooting 3s, he needs at least one other player out there with ball handling skills that can drive and score from the SG or SF. We don't really have that kind of player.

He would probably do alright paired with a Dion Waiter type coming off the bench together. Thats the kind of player he is. If Glen can get it going, he would work better pair with Glen then any other Wizard SG.

Keeps coming back to that. Beal and Glen better show some vastly improved handles because they removed Crawford who was their best guard ball handler next to Wall and they didn't replace that skill on the team and they really need it.

So either Glen is the answer, or they shouldn't have added a PG like Maynor. They needed a PG like Pierre Jackson or even Aaron Brooks.

Don't get me wrong Hands, I'm not defending Wittman, but like the players he had out there, he was (more or less) hired by ErGless.

I realize EG is the answer to every suck post and from there, it rolls up to Ted.

I was just focusing on Wittman in my post.

While the team scores at a top-10 rate with Wall on the court, its scoring efficiency plummets to historically bad levels when he exits the game. The 83.9 offensive efficiency Washington has posted without Wall on the floor this season would be the worst ever recorded in NBA.com's database, which goes back to the 2000-01 season.

The defense doesn't fare much better without Wall.

Washington defends like a top-six unit with Wall on the court and like the 29th-ranked Nets when he comes off the floor.

:o

I knew Maynor was a lousy player. I knew the signing was terrible the moment it happened, but I didn't expect Maynor to be historically bad at running the offense.

An entire possession and the ball doesn't even cross the 3 point line.

Get this VCU trash off the team.

Here's the scary thing: As bad as Maynor has been, Temple has been worse.

That possession was hilariously bad. Booker is out there trying to set screens, but Maynor does such a lousy job of using them that they end up being misses. What Maynor SHOULD HAVE done is brush his shoulder against Booker as he went past. There should have been no space between Maynor and Booker. That way, the defender would have been forced into one of these fairly unpalatable options: 1. Fight through the bigger, stronger Booker; 2. Go under the screen; 3. follow Maynor over the screen; 4. switch.

Option 1 leaves Maynor open to shoot a jumper or attack the paint.

Option 2 leaves Maynor with an open look from 3pt range.

Option 3 gives Maynor an opening to attack the lane.

Option 4 creates a mismatch with a PG defending Booker. At which point, Maynor backs out and Booker posts.

But it starts with using the screen properly.

Thank you Nivek.

Booker's screens were fine...it's the ball handlers duty to use the screen right. There's only so much the screener can do without setting an illegal screen.

Yeah. One second look. Booker wasn't as bad as I thought.

Maynor went way to wide across the top. One the 2nd screen. He never completed his move so Booker wasn't sure what to do next. Should I stay ? Should I roll again ?

I was thinking that Maynor might be the best thing to happen to us. Its got to be hard for Ted to stomach watching this guy stink up the court night after night, especially knowing that Grunfeld signed him for 2 years. Even if the Wizards make it to the playoffs this year, the Maynor signing might be the final nail in EG's coffin.

it should be for the simple fact(s) that EG (1) rushed out to sign him on the first day of FA
for (2)more than one year and (3) more than vet min.

At the risk of provoking one of CCJ's "why don't those fools listen to me" posts -- there's a D-League PG who's off to a very good start so far this season. Playing good ball for Delaware. Looks like a potential upgrade over Maynor and Temple. His name:
Spoiler:
Kendall Marshall.

Ouch, Nivek. Even I can't defend the Maynor signing anymore, and that just adds insult to injury.
