JJ Barea appears to be injured at least for the next game or 2.

I'm guessing because good organizations accumulate strong assets with potential and others trade for Trey Burke.

So his value you is low enough that maybe we can get him for smith since they are hurting for big depth. lol.

Let's try Nicholson. Smith's value is at an all time high.

Agreed. After the first possession last night, Smith's points per 36 was, rounded up, about 1,000

Looks like Fred Hoiberg is in trouble in Chicago, despite having a mediocre, mismatching roster. The Bulls are 16-16 and their FO is not pleased.

OTOH, the Wizards are 15-16 and you have trolls waving the mission accomplished flag. Go figure.

Looks like Atlanta will begin tanking shortly. Surprised not more of these middle of pack teams have gone all in for this deep draft.

The Cavs traded their 2017 R1 pick to Portland for their own (the Cavs') 2018 R1 pick -- in order to be able to trade their 2019 pick to Atlanta for Korver.

Nothing mentioned about giving Portland anything else in the deal. I guess that fact reflects everyone's high estimation of the 2017 draft class. Hence... you can absolutely count on our resident genius to trade our 2017 R1 pick for some marginal veteran.

They are 4th. We'd be stoked to be 4th. We'd be stoked to be 6th.

Now, is this the Hawks GM reasoning:

The next 3 championships will be split between Golden State and Cleveland, give or take. So, trade anyone for whatever we can get back. Have Dwight Howard captain the tank team, because we all know hes a loser now and cant win games, but can probably still draw a crowd and sell jerseys. Rebuild over the next few drafts, make a few trades, and compete again when Lebron is retired and Durant is old?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

The Mavs signed Pierre Jackson to a 2-year deal, what 10 days ago...? Now they've waived him. ???

That's called buyer's remorse.

Yeah, that didn't take long. Really weird. I wonder if he's a real a-hole in the locker room?

Well, if his 3 minutes against us the other night are a useful sample, he can't play at this level.

But of course that's not it -- even the fact that in about 15 minutes overall he wasn't any good; doesn't mean much. So maybe, yeah, he made a nuisance of himself, and they just dumped him for whatever was guaranteed in his deal.

Is it just me or does it feel like John Lucas III has been playing/getting waived for 30 years?

From the two times I saw him he's just too damn short, in addition he couldn't get a step around anyone.

Speaking of a-holes, the kings are going to offer cousins their entire franchise and first born babies. No wonder they are one of the worst ran franchises in league history...rewarding losers with huge contracts.

It's hard to believe he can dominate the D League in scoring and assists, but can't even get around people in the NBA.

Josh Selby and Glen Rice Jr would like to say hello...

Admittedly, I've only seen him play the few minutes against us, but he got blocked on a jump shot. Not a good sign.

Sac looking to give Cousins 200 mil... wow. I want Cousins but he is certified crazy...his game is solid but his mind is just a little better than Ron Artest...how can you trust him with that much money and hold your team hostage with an untradeable contract.

I think the Korver deal makes a lot of sense on both sides. The Hawks weren't going to re-sign him and getting a 2019 pick - when the Cavs could possibly have a down year makes it even better. The Cavs needed a shooter, although he doesn't contribute much else Korver can do that. In terms of future assets, the Cavs are all-in on win now - and the price wasn't too steep.
