We loose Gortat, Rivers, and Oubre and get a 3/4 season rental of Ariza.
Trust the process

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Randle isn't that good when he's not playing bully ball.
Wiz need Otto's 3 point shooting.

We were going to lose all those guys anyway. The trade that EG made was still better than doing nothing at all because Ariza is better than Oubre (and any minutes Brown gets will be an upgrade over Rivers).
The problem isn't that he made the trade. The problem is that he should have gotten more for Oubre. The first trade with Memphis was about right. That would have been a good move. But EG bungled it and left himself in a position where he HAD to trade Oubre for anything he could get.
Ultimately, EG just gave away the opportunity to obtain a 2nd round pick (or two, not sure the details on that rumored MEM conditional pick). Now that asset is gone.
Heat, Pat Riley Have No Interest In Long Rebuild
DEC 16, 2018 8:20 PM
Even with a losing record and a top-10 payroll in the NBA, the Miami Heat lead by Erik Spoelstra and 73-year-old team president Pat Riley refuse to tank their season or undergo a rebuilding process.
On the topic of whether the Heat should tank their season for a high draft pick, Spoelstra responded “do the history on it. What franchises have had the most enduring sustainable success over the last 24 years? We’re up there with the top three or four. The teams that constantly tank, I don’t know where they are...but if you are hardwired to find a way to get it done without any excuses, you will find different pathways. There’s no one way to do it.”
Other NBA executives have noted the Heat's lack of flexibility in the trade market with Josh Richardson their most valuable piece, but they feel that Richardson would only be available if the Heat could land a star in return.
The Heat have been frequently linked as a potential destination for John Wall as they believe their unique team culture could rehabilitate any player.

I don’t know what that means.
Otto isn’t that good when he’s not playing aggressively on O. Which is usually. And he doesn’t have great strength to man the 4.

Wizards don't really have any assets left to move that contract at this point. Best we can probably hope for is probably a move involving the Kings and some third team to move Morris.
I think at this point Washington has to purge something like $4.5 to $5 million to avoid the luxury tax this year.

Ernie going to bribe teams with draft picks to take his large contract.
