Players I had in the first round that didn't get picked in the first round:
Tyrell Terry (18), Tyler Bey (25), Paul Reed (26), Daniel Oturu (27), and Devon Dotson (29)

Beyond disgusted, I didn't think Sheppard would make me lose faith this quickly.

I had no faith in him since last season. He just doesn’t seem to be an out of the box thinker.

His appointment was a gut punch quite frankly, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt.
The idea that all these years a genius GM was just biding his time to emerge from Grunfeld's shadow seemed laughable to me from the get.

Winston is the pick. What is the future comp?

Re: 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick(s)
Winston is an easy guy to root for, I just question his ability to defend at the next level.
Of course that's never stopped the Wizards from picking players, because after all, the key to a good defense is to just take better shots on offense.

dude, you’re cracking me up, not saying you’re wrong (but I hope you are)
I really hope I’m wrong. But I can’t help but think this **** reminds me of Green Acres.
We got Mr Haney doing our scouting.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

The last few years have really made me appreciate Randy Wittman.
The guy couldn’t draw up a stick figure much less an out-of-bounds play, but he got that squad to buy into playing defense.

Where is Whitman these days? Loathed the high 2 pointer offense but have to agree he got the most D out of them then any coach in recent memory

You were spot on, Ruzious!
[doclinkin, I couldn’t find the link but I think you might’ve mentioned him first]
I’m watching ESPN SportsCenter highlights and I hear the name “Nathan Knight”.
I heard that name before...thanks to you. Looks like the Hawks picked a good one.

Ok, be honest - is that Bob McAdoo superimposed on those videos as Nathan Knight? Gotta agree with you - he looks good. As Doc alluded to, he could look better if he's hooked up with a physical trainer - looks like he has the frame to add some muscle. He's a bit of a plodder, but that could be cured somewhat by getting in better shape.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Merrill's claim to fame will be how much he looks like a 6'5 version of Luca Doncic. The resemblance is uncanny - though I agree with the journeyman analysis. In college, he was in shape for the YMCA but not for the NBA. He has some upside if he can get in dramatically better shape.

Payitforward put him here first. I just seconded and said he needs a bit of tuning up but could be a revelation.

Ruzious? DOCLINKIN...!!??!!??
As doc mentioned, Nathan Knight was & is my find. Along with Nate Hinton & a few other potential gems who either went undrafted or were picked in the bottom dozen of R2.

Re: 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick(s)
Nathan Knight played 9 minutes vs. Memphis last night. In that short time, he scored 14 points on 5 shots & 5 FTAs, while grabbing 2 defensive boards & 1 on the offensive end.
I wish we had a FO with some imagination.

Ha! Why is my name in caps? And interrobangs. Shoot: Read your own signature. It is implied in the obverse: If you get anything right, I should be credited.

Re: 2020 2nd Round Draft Pick(s)
Ayo Dosonmu might be playing himself into round one but if not he could be a steal in round two.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.
