Nick got off to a bad start this season but he is still shooting 38% from 3 on 4 attempts per game. He forces up a lot of tough, contested shots but he makes them more often than the other guys make open shots.

Just curious, would the Wiz be interested in an Andrey Blatche for Channing Frye trade? :-?

I'd do it. Frye would be a better version of Lewis, at this point.

Frye's contract is just as long as Blatche's. If we trade Blatche i would hope it would be for a shorter contract.

Before trade deadline, we do Turiaf/Mack/Young for Morrow/Farmar.

why for Nets- they want to clear the $8m committed to both Morrow and Farmar for next year so they can clear salary to offer Dwight and Deron the max while still be able to sign another positions of need like PF and SF going into next season. Morrow is expendable despite the fact that he's looking better every day (just dropped 42 pts last night) b/c they've got Marshon Brooks at SG.

why for Wiz- we get our stop gap SG for next year in Morrow for just $4m (in case we miss on Gordon) and upgrade our backup PG position w/Farmar.

That's wishful thinking. No reason for another team to do that for us. You trade Blatche just to get rid of him and take back someone else's bad contract. At this point I'm fine with that.

Not bad. For NJ it could be a major move, so I'd try to extort a future 1st from them and give them a couple of 2nd rounders.

If we wanted to extort a future 1st, we could give them either Vesely or Singleton b/c both of them are playing like 2nd rounders at the moment...lol

Vesley, Mack, Young, Turiaf for Houston pick, Petro, Morrow, and Farmar.

Petro, Farmar and Morrow all expire after next season .

Oh dear, that would be a win from a value standpoint and from a basketball product standpoint as well but I was very looking forward to having Blatche amnestied.

The time is now to trade McGee...

Yeah, he might blow up with the right coaching staff, but I really, really doubt it. Even more I doubt he's going to resign here. Wall needs a big man he can trust to make smart plays.

EG will probably wait while his value slowly plummets, though.

I would also look to see what I could get for McGee. Unlike Blatche, I wouldn't just dump him for anything, but I would at least explore the market to see what I could get. IMHO, I think there is zero chance the kid will blow-up into a star...he just doesn't have that make-up. He could be a serviceable back-up and high energy player off the bench given the right coach, but I don't ever see him being a starting center for a contending team. He just doesn't have the BBIQ that is needed and I also think he is more concerned with making a highlight reel that doing the things necessary to win ball games.

Bottom line is I think McGee, Young and Blatche all have to go if Ted really wants to build this team with hardnosed, tough players, both mentally and physically.

My latest:
Wiz trade Lewis+McGee+2012 2nd for Emeka+SJAX+Udrich+Minny 2012 1st+Bucks 2012 1st
Bucks trade SJAX+Udrich+2012 1st for Kaman+Ariza
Hornets trade Emeka+Ariza+Kaman+2012 Minny 1st for Lewis+McGee+Was 2012 2nd

WHY FOR THE HORNETS? Save money while getting McGee as a young center who needs a new team. With the 13 million Lewis buyout, the team saves 28 million not counting McGee's extension cost.
WHY FOR THE BUCKS? They want to win now. With Bogut out, they need a center. Kaman is a great fit. They also get rid of SJAX who has been a major dissapointment.
WHY FOR THE WIZ? Emeka gives them a productive vet who isn't a complete moron on the court like McGee is. Udrich provides outside shooting and a competent backup PG. He's signed till next year. SJAX is a nutjob, but he'll provide toughness and competitiveness. The Wiz then go and amnesty Blatche in the off-season if they need FA space.

Honestly, if NO or Mil wanted Vessly, I'd throw him in to. We are drafting our future PF/C in this draft. He'll be MUCH better than JV will ever be. Booker will be WAY BETTER than JV will ever be. Keep Booker and trade Vessley!

Or how about this:

Wiz trade Turiaf+Vessley+McGee for Scola+Buddinger
NO trades Ariza+Minny pick for McGee+Turiaf
Hou trades Scola+Buddinger for Vessley+Minny pick+Ariza

WHY FOR HOUSTON? They have 3 first rounders in this deep draft (Knicks, Minny, and their own) plus they get the 6th pick in this past draft Vessley
WHY FOR HORNETS? They save money by getting out of Ariza's deal while getting McGee to be a young center to biuld around. They can now move Kaman and Emeka for more young pieces.
WHY FOR THE WIZ? They increase their B-Ball IQ by 10^6 power. Scola is signed to a very good contract. ALthough he's having a bad year, he can at least make a jumper. Buddinger is underrated and could be a cheap 2g replacement for next year.

I agree with opening up trade talks with McGee. He would have pretty big value around the league and he's the 2nd most marketable piece on the roster aside from Wall (I'm not trading our #1). W're not trading Wall before we hire a new gm/ coach, the pick isn't going anywhere, so that leaves Javale. That beign said, not old folks....If you trade a young big you have to get a young player with upside in return. Derrick WIlliams is someone I'd reach out to Minnesota about. We'd have to throw in something but I think he could be had. They're deep and he's getting not playing time although he came out as a more polished prospect. Its worth the call.

i like the first trade mhd, but i dont think the Bucks would bite at all...

then for your second one i looked at cutting out NO.

would HOU go for something like McGee + Janchise for Thabeet and Minny 1st?

They get a good backup for Sam at C.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Some really awful, awful trades on this page. But Wes would certainly approve. SMH

Nic Batum showing himself to be a potential big-time RFA with a career day - 9 3's off the bench in under 25 minutes. He has expressed that minutes are a concern of his. And Jamal Crawford gets more minutes off the bench than he does. When someone suggested a trade of McGee for Batum before, I poopoo'd it - because of Batum's upcoming free agency. I was wrong (Did I say that?) to write it off. Portly's going to match - if for no other reason than to do a sign and trade. At some point soon, Marcus Camby's going to be eligible for Social Security, and Greg Oden - who looks older - will be on his 25th season of saying wait till next season - so Portly could use a young center to groom behind the Cambyman.
