Not sure about Anderson, though he does some things very well. Trading next year's R1 pick to take him seems waaay off. Big-time over-pay.

Who is likely available @ our #49?

I kind of like Aaron White and Michael Frazier. And maybe Joseph Young??

But based on need, fit, and total package including mental makeup, those are the two I want.

For example, I would draft Portis at our pick, and deal our 2nd & next year's 1st to get Anderson.

I view Gortat, Humphries, Portis, Porter, Anderson, Beal, Wall as a worthwhile foundation. Add a major FA in 2016.

Our 2nd rounder is in the hands of Boston due to Humphries.

No, it's top 49 protected. OTOH, Ernie might give it to them anyway to complete the trade. Take back a discount coupon for Legal Seafoods?

I think Portis is okay, but I would rather see the Wizards buy a round two pick and choose Dez Wells.

I'm glad to hear this.

Round two showed that Clarkson types are available. I hope the Wizards learned SOMETHING.

So we officially have the 19th pick in the draft. Chris Mannix of SI has us taking Harrell, and Bobby Portis comes off the board at 20.

Portis or Loony work for me. Need a young stretch 4 in the most urgent possible way.

Yeah - kudo's to Ernie on this. He had top 49 protection on the pick, and we end up with the 49th pick. It was his great foresight that came through. Now watch him sell the pick - seriously. Draftexpress.com has Jordan Mickey being available at that pick. To me, Mickey should go top 25 in the draft, so I would most likely pick him if he's available. But yeah, I expect we won't be keeping that pick. :banghead:

If you had to choose between Jerian Grant, Tyus Jones, Delon Wright, Cameron Payne or Terry Rozier, who do you choose?

yeah, I am not good at evaluating college hoopsters myself either... I am okay with the international players. It seems like we are going to be in the middle of the PGs - and it seems like one of them will be fine - just don't know which one.

The best part is if we keep the pick, it gets extinguished and we don't have to pay them a second at all! We Could be using that second on Dez Wells, Hes Walls good friend. it's better than selling the pick.
I would like Christian Wood in the first round. He has range and he can defend really well. He is a better version of John Henson IMO.
It would be nice to pull some magic and get a second 2015 pick mid round. pick up Bobby Portis, and Christian Wood. because we nee to up grade that front line. I just don't like Harrell.
Too be the pick should be Portis or Wood. Unless we trade Beal, then RJ Hunter, Heild and Booker come in to play.

It's like I said... he's going to give the pick to Boston anyway and take back a Legal Seafood discount coupon. I'm joking about the coupon, but I'm serious about the other part.

I might be wrong about this but I think wall is up there telling them to draft his boy Dez. and a second round pick will do that. I'm just saying.

With the official order pre-lotto settled I have my first Mock out, and I give the Wizards Trey Lyles with the 19th pick.

I see no reason whatever to feel confident that Trey Lyles will be a productive NBA player. Could be, of course -- hard to know about kids that young. And you can say the same about other potential choices like Looney.

In a way, I feel more confident about Cliff Alexander, for example -- if only because he's likely to be picked at the bottom of R1 or top of R2.

Now that Poeltl has decided to go back to school, everyone projected below him by DR jumps up a slot, and their latest mock has us taking Kevon Looney.

Why I care about this and bother to mention it is another question.

Looney's a fit, but Tyus Jones is simply a better player. If Jones goes before 19, Cameron Payne might be the best pick - he's a lot like Jones - but not quite as good.
