Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
On January 21, the Dow was at about 44k even. Due to fears of inflation caused by Trump's idiotic tariff wars, the Dow closed yesterday at 41,500, a relatively calamitous 5.5% crash for such a short period of time. We'll see how things shake out the rest of the year.
I really, really, really, really hope all of Trump's evil billionaire friends lose their collective shirts as a result of a big recession brought about by his idiotic policies. They very much deserve it. Of course everyone else will suffer, so I'm fine if they talk him out of it and it doesn't happen. Win win either way.

I've been taught all my life to value service to the weak and powerless.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Probably why you don't hire a severe alcoholic TV host for an important job. I wouldn't hire someone like that to hang drywall on one of my projects.

(Long) Convo btw Joy Reid and Steve Schmidt
Ironically one has to be subjected to Trump
'campaign' ads multiple times in order to
watch this.
Convo gets really good beginning around 30 min to
about 50 minutes.

(McGrath) Characterizing Jackie Robinson is an unqualified DEI hire is just about the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.
But characterizing Pete Hegseth as a DUI hire is spot on.

Oh yeah. I give the bird to every Tesla driver I see. Also sold all my Tesla stock.
But he literally just had a child with this woman and refuses to contact her. What a POS.

I usually just give them a thumbs down.

Sorry but like Elon said, "empathy is our fundamental weakness". Of course I don't really believe that, but he does. And I'm not really harassing them, just a quick little bird so they know what's up. It's about destroying Tesla as a brand, not about harassing the drivers. The dude is sieg heiling.

Look at this fking guy.
Just a reminder that he has his children with IVF because he has a botched penile implant. Dude's mad at the world because all the money in the universe can't fix his micropenis.

Sen Booker has begun a filibuster that he intends to
continue as long as he is physically capable of.
Re Hegseth, he's been bringing his wife to classified
meetings and bringing his brother along on work trips.
He's also visiting Annapolis tomorrow possibly to
check on what woke books might be there @ Naval Academy.

https://apnews.com/article/louisiana-constitutional-amendments-landry-c9a48606790251bdddb84978eea382ea
NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Louisiana voters soundly rejected four constitutional amendments championed by Republican Gov. Jeff Landry related to crime, courts and finances.
Voters said no to each amendment by margins exceeding 60%, according to preliminary results the secretary of state’s office released after voting concluded Saturday evening.
Landry and his allies had crisscrossed the state in support of an amendment that would have made sweeping changes to the revenue and finance section of the state’s constitution. The amendment received bipartisan support from lawmakers during a November special session on tax reform and was presented as a way to boost teacher salaries, curb excess spending and get rid of special tax breaks in the constitution.

I can't believe this isn't more of a big deal, but I suppose we are way past that at this point.

Re: Political Roundtable Part XXXIV
It's clearly criminal however they attempt to cloak it.
Perhaps it will backfire and/or be less effective than they believe.
But like most state run lotteries, it's a tax on people who are bad at math
and or don't understand probability and statistics. That said, given that
the winners are not randomly selected, maybe they understand math perfectly.
Curious what Zonk and/or others think of this.
30 minutes long...It's all good, but to speed it up skip to 19 minutes in.
