An update sort-of, but it was already correctly called here 8-)

Hamady Ndiaye is working out at Verizon Center and expected to participate in training camp with the Wizards beginning next week, he has yet to accept the non-qualifying tender. Ndiaye most likely will take it, with only a few days left before camp and him unable to get offers from elsewhere.

Ndiaye and the Wizards remain hopeful that he finds employment overseas before the regular season begins, because the longer he sticks around, the more problems it could possibly present for both sides. Unless Ndiaye completely blows away the Wizards in training camp and the preseason, the team does not plan on having him in uniform in the upcoming season.

Bump, we should know soon whether we cut HN, or we keep him as a French-speaking buddy for Kevin.

I don't recall the exact date, but Hamady's salary for the rest of the season is guaranteed if he is not cut by Jan_?

Ah, thanks.

So lets see some of him next game. He was active last game and he has only played in 3 games this year.

With all that practice, he has to have improved, Right ? :D

*Bump* If Hamady survives through tonight, he'll be guaranteed for the remainder of the season.

Hamady Ndiaye Assigned to D-League's Dakota Wizards
January 6, 2011

Wizards President Ernie Grunfeld announced today that Hamady Ndiaye has been assigned to the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League. The Dakota Wizards are Washington’s NBA D-League affiliate.

Ndiaye, the 56th overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, was the 2009-10 Big East Conference Defensive Player of the Year last season at Rutgers. This season Ndiaye has appeared in four games for Washington, and has scored three points in 11 minutes of NBA action.

Yeah, I saw it on Kevin Seraphin's facebook page that Hamady was going to the D-league.

Unless he comes back and outplays McGee or even Neck or something, it just proves that the DL doesn't really help indeed...

Come-on DRH, you'd rather have Hamady sit on the bench for the year rather than playing hoops? Keep Hamady fresh, Neck won't be around next year.

Wouldn't it be great if the Wiz D League team played in the area? I'd love to see how Hammy does there.

The Dakota Wizards mirror the Washington Wiz, they have the 3rd worst record in the NBDL. I keep-up through the NBDL iPhone Ap :)

I'm technologically impaired. :( But honestly, I never had a reason to watch Dakota play before since the Wiz never send them a real prospect.

Yesterday, off in the distance, I heard this faint scream of pure joy, and I had no idea what was going on. Only after reading this thread do I now realize that it was probably just clog reading the news that we were sending a player down to the D-League.

MJG is bitter because he said this:

MJG wrote:Are there any teams that really, truly extensively use the D-League? There are certainly one-off send-downs and call-ups from time to time, but I didn't think there were any teams really taking serious advantage of it.

There probably needs to be a better structure in place before it can really take off. Give each team it's own D-League team, and have them travel with the main team and play games the same night in a local gym or practice arena. Base them out of the same city as the parent team. Basically, create sort of a JV to the main team's varsity, rather than sending guys off to a remote location with one member of your staff and hope for the best.

Not sure if that would work or not. But I do know that as structured now, I don't really see much advantage with sending guys down there, and I'm fine with us not using it.

You were wrong on just about every point you made.
