Grunfeld put the organization in a position in-which it HAD to take either Beal or Barnes. Drummond is the real deal, he could be a dominant center in a few years.

I didn't want to risk are pick on him. Well if we didn't make the okariza trade i would of took Thomas Robinson or MKG but since we made that trade Beal was the obvious choice witch i still don't mind.

Beal over Drummond.... that move is so horrendous that shareholders should vote to have TED released from final decisions.
It's almost as bad as not picking michael jordan number people, the move was that BAD.

Singler looked like a hitler youth out there. He needs to go white-guy-shaved-head like JWill. That wispy combover is not doing him any favors.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

This could be the worst game I've ever watched. Ted should publicly apologize like he got caught tweeting photos of his penis while in office.

I've watched most of the games this year. I turned this one on, saw Beal and Nene were out, and changed the channel.

These games are totally pointless unless Beal is playing. He's the only player I'm investing any interest in long term. Nene is great and fun to watch, but they've got to move him and get something in return. He doesn't deserve to sink on this ship.

Karma for the Darko pick. I hope we are rewarded in the next draft because of the Jan Vesely debacle.

Our injury list:

PG Wall/Price
SG Beal
SF Ariza
PF Booker
C Nene

That's essentially our ideal starting 5 plus our backup PG. EG has a built-in excuse.

Getting blown out by 32 freakin points to the Pistons... one of the other worst teams in the league is definitely time to do something. Im predicting Randy gets fired tomorrow. I know all 3 of our good players are hurt... but its been so bad lately and then losing by this much to another awful team takes the cake.... I think Randy is gone. Might not be his fault... but someone has to take the kill for it. They cant just keep doing the same thing over and over all year... they'll end up winning like 7 games all year.

The Beal pick over Drummond was reasonable at the time . . . bigs are so frequently overvalued it was a lot more likely Drummond was a complete bust especially considering how shaky he'd been in college. Not saying the upside of going the other way would have been a bad pick, but this wasn't the equivalent of picking Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan or . . . say, Kenny Green over Karl Malone.

Now, the Vesely pick, 2/3 of the board was pleading for him not to make, we've got legit ripping rights there. It's possible Kemba Walker might have helped just a little this year?

This board was so focused on the failure of developing JaVale McGee that most on here wanted nothing to do with Drummond. Anyone who watched Drummond extensively at UCONN would know that him and JaVale play nothing alike and the only thing they have in common is athleticism.

When you are choosing between a big with special tools like Drummond and a SG that has only OK tools and does stuff at a solid-good level, you take the big man every time. And if with as raw as Drummond is, he would've been able to contribute right away with his rebounding and shot-blocking, stuff we desperately need.

No doubt everyone that posts in here would have a different team then they currently have given who they wanted in various drafts or trades but as was posted, they could have a starting line up from the players they have injured right now and it looks like they are in full blow tank which is pathetic.

For me, I don't believe in tanking multiple years. I can see blowing a team up and tanking one year for a deep draft. But there are always player to be had that are good in pretty much every draft.

Last night games we saw three draft picks play. Kevin, Singleton and Jan
What we didnt see player were. Wall, Beal, Booker and they didn't have Nene

The game was over before it even started.

So while this is not the team I would have designed, we are not even seeing the team they designed.

“Even though we’ve got eight or nine guys right now, I’ve got to find five that can play and play with confidence like you belong in the NBA. Like you belong,” Wittman repeated for emphasis. “I’ve got to do that. I’ll take responsibility for that.”

“We just never played with any confidence,” Wittman said. “That was embarrassing, from an offensive standpoint, to play the way that we did. I don’t care who’s in or who’s not in.”

“We can’t make excuses. Everybody is an NBA player. When somebody down, it’s just another person get an opportunity. Got to take advantage of it,” said Jordan Crawford, who was back in his home town and scored a team-high 20 points, accounting for seven of the Wizards’ 15 field goals in the first half. “We was taking punches all night.”

The players and coaches didnt make any excuses for their effort last night. We couldn't score 70 points against one of the worst NBA teams.

Can't hold my tongue any more for the drummond-over-beal talk. That's as knee-jerky a reaction as it gets.

1 - Who would you all have us play at shooting guard? Crawford? Who would be the backup? We have ZERO backcourt depth and we have ZERO scoring ability and that was showcased last night very clearly. The wiz had their lowest scoring output last night and it was evident that nobody on the court short of Crawford and Webster is anything even close to average offensively. Would you want to add Beal or Drummond to that mix?

2 - Drummond wouldn't even be able to sniff PT on this team. We had already traded for Nene and Okafor by the draft and we still had to find minutes for Seraphin and Vesely. Drafting Drummond would have left us with an even bigger logjam in the frontcourt than we already have.

3 - Drummond isn't even that good. He had a good game against us and he dominated the hell out of Seraphin. He's panned out better than most of his "haters" have projected but it's not a slam dunk. He has the luxury of playing on a smart defensive squad with a smart defensive coach and the luxury to crash the offensive boards because the team is long, fast, and sound defensively which makes his rebounding numbers sparkle but on most other squads he would look less impressive - especially ours. There was a play where he made a backdoor bounce pass to a streaking Maxiel and I thought to myself - wow. Any other team, playing with anyone other than Greg Monroe and Drummond doesn't pick up on that play. Good for Drummond. He would never be able to make that play because Seraphin would never make that cut, and Drummond would never have that instict.

4 - If you want to bitch about missed opportunities, I would understand if people are pining for Lillard or Waiters but Drummond? 3 double-doubles in 29 games, 1 of which was against our garbage squad? A mediocre frontcourt player versus dynamic backcourt players? Come on guys. If you're going to complain, at least do it right.

5 - WizD, you also were touting the virtues of Aminu tearing the league a new one because of his bowleggedness. How did that prediction pan out?
