Wasn't sure where to post this, but....

WojYahooNBA: Mack, a second round pick out of Butler in '11, is expected to join Wizards on Monday. Wiz cut guard Shaun Livingston on Saturday night

Probably the right move.

WD, I know Cousins is a baller. He and Wall are made for each other. But so also is Beal made for John Wall.

Bradley Beal is 19 and starting to figure out the pro game. His is three years younger than Wall and Cousins. I look at the family and the past for Beal at Florida, and I think he's going to start slow but ramp up. Cousins has to be resigned. The Kings only trade him if they don't want to invest in him moving forward. Obviously, has outbursts have grown old for them to deal with. They no longer want him. Why did the Wizards want Beal in this draft? To trade Beal now would be to do so without him seeing him play full speed with Wall. His game might help Wall's, too. Last, Beal is an exceptionally high character kid who has dominated up to now. I think he's going to be a solid SG in 3 years. Beal is not a star, but he is a good defender in the making who will rebound and pass. His size is the limiting factor. I need to see him with Wall before I would trade him.

I wouldn't trade the first rounder, either, because there are game changers in this draft. Young players with a clean slate. I would give up Beal before I would give up a shot at a potential superstar in this draft.

How hard would you be laughing if you were another GM?
How pissed would you be if you were the guy that didn't get hired over Ernie?
How stupid is Ted?

It's funny. I just started reading this thread and, on page one, I saw all of those posts saying how this was a curious move and how it could be the precursor to a big trade.

I was momentarily excited.

Then, I reminded myself I'm a Wizards fan and that Ernie Grunfeld wouldn't do anything to get me remotely interested in this team.

I read on 2 pages and find out we only cut Livingston to sign Mack.

And I became that much more reassured in my preconceived notions regarding Ernie.

We can get Cousins in about five or six years, when he's finally going to be able to contribute to a team. Like the Pistons with Rasheed Wallace and the Grizzlies with Randolph.

That said, I think Livingston is a better player than he showed here -- he was a bad fit on a team in disarray. On a team like Denver, he'd be a great bench guy.

Well, Mike Lee was pretty explicit that the Wiz intended to fill both roster spots with guards. Now that Mack is back, the likely suspects for the remaining deck chair would be:

1) Morris Almond
2) Edwin Ubiles
3) Lester Hudson

Would've liked this all to lead to a Cousins deal, but I doubt the Kings are ready to give up on him.

5 TOs/Game in the DLeague is worrisome.

yeah 5 TO's per game, barely getting to the free throw line.. wonder why they decided to make this move now. or are they just bringing in anyone who knows the system. who did they work out recently?

Work out?

The Wizards do not do anything so drastic. We just hire and keep people we already know and are familiar with, no matter how crappy they are at their jobs.
