Hoping for Wall to total 75 points minimum over the next 3 games but end them all in L's.

Draft Seedings with remaining games:

8th - Minnesota - 29 wins - @UTA, vPHO, vUTA, vSAN
8th - Washington - 29 wins - @BRK, @CHI
7th - Sacramento - 28 wins - @SAN, @HOU, @OKC, vLAC
5th - Detroit - 27 wins - vCHA, vPHI, @BRK
5th - New Orleans - 27 wins - vLAC, vDAL, @DAL
The bottom 4 teams, Cleveland, Phoenix, Orlando and Charlotte, cannot be caught.

Detroit is about to beat Charlotte tonight which gets them their 28th win. New Orleans is tied with the Clippers at halftime.

We will lose to Chicago but could conceivably beat Brooklyn because their playoff position is locked and they have nothing to play for. Minnesota should win at least one of their remaining games because they're better than Phoenix. It's tough to say whether those top tier teams will rest their starters. They're jockeying for playoff seeding. Sacramento may not win again. Detroit could definitely win against Phoenix and Brooklyn. New Orleans could beat Dallas because Dallas has nothing to play for.

Pistons win against Charlotte. They now have 28 wins. New Orleans is up 6 over the Clippers at the start of the 4th. Kings down just 4 to the Spurs at the start of the 3rd.

We might as well sticky this Nate. With Philly's win tonight, the Wiz are fighting for positions between the 5th till 10th.

Toronto should be on your list too Nate. They have 31 wins and have Nets, @ Hawks, Celtics left. I think they can win one more game at least b/c they are NOT tanking with no draft pick. If they win one more, than the Wiz can't fall below them.

It would be a shame if all of that effort we spent into getting swept by the Pistons and Kings goes to waste.

You gotta think Minn beats PHO at home and the Wiz lose out on the road. 8th place looks solid.

Yup. NO choked down the stretch. Dammit!

The Minny Utah game has been essentially tied the entire time. I've checked the score about 10 times and every time I check, nobody is ahead by more than 2.

The only problem is that Brooklyn has nothing to play for. They're locked into their 4th place seed. But I think you are right. Our injury-riddled, worn out team is going to be hard pressed to win on the road at this point. Unless Wall has one of those nights when his midrange jumper can't miss. Teams still give him that shot all night.

UPDATED Standings:

10th - Toronto - 31 wins - BRK, @ATL, BOS
8th - Minnesota - 29 wins - vPHO, vUTA, vSAN
8th - Washington - 29 wins - @BRK, @CHI
6th - Sacramento - 28 wins - @HOU, @OKC, vLAC
6th - Detroit - 28 wins - vPHI, @BRK
5th - New Orleans - 27 wins - vDAL, @DAL

Hopefully Minny wins against the Suns (who also are tanking to ensure they don't slip below the Cavs).
Detroit is playing well and Frank is coaching for his job. Philly won tonight, so hopefully they are done winning. NO is locked in after tonight's masterful performance of tanking. They will be the 5th slot.
Sac is interested and may play balls out that last game at home. OKC is playing for the #1 seed, so they best chance is for Sac to beat Houston and the Clips at home. If the Pistons pass us, then with the 7th pick, this wiz could take:

1) Bobcats-Noel
2) Magic-Smart
3) Suns-Mclemore
4) Cavs-Porter
5) NO-Olapido
6) Kings-Burke
7) Wiz-Bennett/Len

Like I said, it was a designer tank.

Beat the good teams so you can get some attention from more NBA player and the refs that you are turning it around but lose to all the teams you are fighting against for lottery positions and win the tie breakers.

Seems to have worked well so far. Wall is now getting some calls.

No one tanks with the precision of the Wizards.

Look at last year. The lost as much as they needed to until they had the inside trek on a top 3, then they started to win so they had a better taste of things going into the summer.

So you go into the off season and you find out Nene is not going to be ready since he had to play in the Olympics. You know you need another draft with a high pick.

So Wall trains to hard and comes up with a sore knee. Wink Wink ... Nod Nod... Say no more ... Say no more..
Gotta keep the tank rolling for Ted to get more high picks/cheap labor.

Then you go all summer looking for a PG while Wall is out only to come up with Price and Pargo. Then cut Pargo and bring back Mack.. Cut Mack for Livingston. Play him a few games then make a DL call up.. Play Crawford there but when he posts a 3x double after 5 starts at PG, send him to the bench so Mack can start.

Come on. We get all pissed watching it happen live but when you look back at it, that is pure tank a la tank

No way they win another game unless there is no way their draft position can change. They would start Ves before they let that happen.

Actually, the game I want to watch before the season is over is for Randy to insist that Ves take 15 shots in about 30 minutes of play. And not like rebound put back shots. Now that would be the final piece of entertainment in what has ended up being an entertaining season.

Ves, Temple and Booker as the primary shooter. But a shock collar on Kevin S and if he shoots just zap him. Put one on Ves also and if he doesn't shoot... zap him. I would pay to see that.

Minny is realizing how serious our tank is and is trying to out-tank us. Hopefully the Suns out-tank Minny.

Cantankerous tanking tanker’s tinker tenuously, tempestuously tempted to tank totally.

Terd and Ernie, the masterminds behind a brilliantly planned and flawlessly executed 29-51 record. They are the absolute maestros of mediocrity.

If the Wizards wins and losses are the result of some preordained plan dictated by management, why don't they just decide to win more games, period? You know, like the Spurs and the Heat do.

I don't know about you, but when I look back at it, I see 30+ years of mostly tank a la tank, whatever that means.

Not to diminish the noble tank effort, but I don't think it matters. This is a draft where it's just as easy (maybe easier) to screw up the 6th pick (been there) as it is the 10th pick. Where it might matter more (3m) is if they're looking to trade down.

6th pick has a 25% chance of top 3 though, which is much better than if we're 8-10. Anything that improves our odds of coming away with Noel or Porter is a good thing. If we don't end up with one of those two, then it doesn't matter where we pick from 6-10.
