Nene will have a bounce back game, no way he could play as bad as game 1. Just need to get him some touches in the post early. If he starts stinking up the place, Randy needs to pull him ASAP

I've never thought of Horford as a dirty player, and truthfully, he's actually the guy I want after Durant, him or Derrick Favors. Horford is a good player, he hasn't in the past exuded the edgey douchebagness you get outta Noah (a guy who don't want on my team).

Still I'd like to see Gortat drop 20-10 on em tonight if at all possible.

im really just worrying about our defense. If I were Randy I'd be tempted to go zone and force them to beat us by shooting a high percentage from outside the whole game and getting nothing inside or any offensive boards near the rim. That and making sure to get back in transition.

That first half was something awful to watch as far as defense. They had us on skates.

thats one thing though is---this group loses games because they can't score, not because they don't defend--this team really locks up defensively in the post season

It's called Bowening, and FWIW I didn't think Horford did it intentionally when i watched the replay during the game. I haven't watched it since though.

Bowen was such a dirty player. I think he learned that move from Bill Laimbeer.

Wow that was really dirty. I was ticked that Al wasn't called for a foul, but it didn't look anywhere near as bad as the Bowen video where Bruce flagrantly and repeatedly extends his leg. Was hoping to see Vince get a shot on him.

Hortford just seemed to close hard and get too close, which should've been whistled. Now if it happens again this series, it's time to send in DeJuan Blair for a couple retribution "plays."

On the positive side, I don't think there's more than a handful of players in the entire NBA that would stoop as low as Bowen. Honestly, if I was Carter's teammate, I don't how I wouldn't have retaliated against Bowen. What a punk.

Nene hate is getting unbearable....

Let's see:
Single handedly won us the CHI series
Strongest man in the NBA (Dwight Horward isn't a man)
Best footwork in the NBA, maybe the world
Spin moves, drop steps for days
Dunks like the rim slept with his girl
Pump fake jumper is money
Incredible passer for position
Sets tendon shattering picks
Defense is nasty

But yeah he's washed up

Yeah Horford didn't stick his leg out and intentionally hurt Beal. He landed naturally, his momentum just carried him forward into Beal's space. Should have been a foul called, but it wasn't dirty. Bowen obviously did that **** on purpose.

Also, I don't complain about the screens he sets except when he's moving. Gortat and Nene take a very wide stance on screens to cut off guys going over them and don't usually get called. It's part of the game.

I looked at it again, you're right. I blame Hands, he sold me on it :)

Are Wall and Beal's injuries significant? Maybe we should have them rest to heal fully

We basically win the series with a win tonight but with Wall and Beal both injured, I don't see it happening. I'd almost rather they just sit and we punt this one and go home 1-1 with everyone healthy then risk losing and further injuring our two young stars.

I'd play a lot of bully ball. Hard screens. Let Seraphin bulldoze over some guys. Hell let Blair toss somebody over his shoulder. I'm all for an eye for an eye.

I'm leaning towards letting Wall and Beal sit this one and hoping for an ungodly performance from Session/Bynum and perhaps steal one Clips style, otherwise yeah...punt this one.

To me, it's more a medical question that a strategy one.

My guess is that with Wall's wrist injury, playing on it isn't really going to make it any worse (unless he lands funny on it). So as long as his wrist is healthy enough to dribble and shoot layups, he should play. It'll probably mean that he won't be very willing to slap at balls and go for steals with his bum hand, but even with that handicap, he's still better than Sessions.

Beal is a different story. Since his issue is an ankle, he can easily re-injure it. It may make sense for him to sit out and get healthy. If he does play, I really hope that have it wrapped up and braced really well. (That guy needs to wear higher high tops. It really seems like he tweaks an ankle every other week.)

I say if Horford gets on a roll like Beal did send Blair and Seraphin in with instructions to push below the face and not in the back. Hip check or especially a legal pick on Horford is desirous. Goal would be make him stressed but don't flagrant foul.

Win with skill but if the other team is more skilled you be more physically imposing in small doses.
