The question is: do we really like Markieff Morris? Is he worth our pick and $8M a year in salary? He can score, but he doesn't rebound very well and his 3-point shot is passable at best. I haven't seen him in action much. How is his defense? Any explanation for the lackluster rebound totals?

Morris' EFG% is 49%; that's not good at all for a big. So his "passable" 3pt. shot isn't helping him. As to why he doesn't rebound, who knows. But he hasn't had even one respectable season as a rebounder in the NBA.

Look at NBA 4s who play 25+ minutes. Markieff Morris is in the bottom 20% in per 40 minute rebounding. In the top 15% in turnovers. In the top 15% in fouls. Below average in getting to the line. Bottom 20% in TS%. And he's about to turn 26, so this is not some "developing" player; this is a bad player, who's signed through June 2019.

Why would we want Markieff Morris? A nightmare.

Good points, PIF. There doesn't seem to be much in the numbers to suggest that he's a good player. The media seems to really like the guy though. I wonder why?

I'm almost positive now we will trade for him lol. Morris of two seasons ago was a pretty good player, trading for him would gambling on him reverting back to his production of two seasons ago. He is youngish, will be 26 soon, so there might be incremental upside left.

However, we rarely trade for supposed headcases. So I don't know if it'd happen.

Now even though the rebounding wouldn't be particularly good, I think Danilo Gallinari would be an interesting 4 to target.

I guess we just don't need any big men. This is just bizarre to me. Is there any semblance of reason to these decisions, did we just miss out on our guys and our postponing moves with the front court to later? Very confusing. Maybe we're going to package a guy or two? Just weird.

Every step they've made in the offseason leads me to believe that they plan on playing Porter at the 4 a good deal of the time. It might be crazy enough to work. If Porter can hold his own at the 4, it makes wooing Durant much easier. There's a spot waiting for him at SF.

Hopefully, he's doing 5x5 squats and deadlifts every other day in between steak and eggs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I still have a really good feeling about Famous.
I feel like trade is incoming. But I feel in my heart of hearts that Otto is playing the 4 this year. If Eg and randy sees Otto as a 4 and who are viewing NENE as no more than a back up center, they are making a little more sense, but you still need to move webby and blair. I feel ike Famous can make the team I really do! I think the trade I talked about will be for a 4... maybe Morris ?maybe Thompson ?

Famous isn't particularly long or athletic, I don't see him matching well against 5s tbh. He looks strong but his actual reach and athleticism isn't inspiring. At least in everything I have seen on him :/

He is 6'11 with a 6'11 wing span, The dude puts up comparable and some times better numbers than Whiteside when he was in China and the D league. Famous can play, he has pretty good size and he has really polished up his skills.

The better questions are which other team will sign Famous after the Wizards don't, and how much will he play for them?

Former South Dakota State Jackrabbit star Nate Wolters had a solid start to his NBA Summer League season.

Wolters started for the Los Angeles Clippers and scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists in LA's 75-74 loss to the Orlando Magic in Orlando.

Wolters will play this week with the Clippers and join the San Antonio Spurs, coached by Rapid City native Becky Hammon, next week in Las Vegas.

Wolters would be really good to have right behind Sessions, if this GM was worth a darn.

Seems like the kind of player that could blow up. Not in an anger way. I know he has some R Wallace in him but sometimes that can be a good thing. I want my PF to have some mad dog fight in him.

Its really an issue of how does he fit if KD is here. What happens to Otto ?

J Michael is wrong, but it's academic. Wiz won't use any exceptions (other than the room exception) next summer because they'll be under the cap.

I think Morris is a great option at this point. He doesn't hinder the KD2DC plan, he's a legit stretch-4 and he's relatively young and cheap. His numbers in 13-14 were really solid and that is without playing alongside a top-tier distributor (Dragic is very good but not the floor-general Wall is).

Markieff Morris in '13-14: 9 boards per 40 minutes. 31.5% 3 point shooter. Low steals. Low blocks. High fouls. High turnovers.

Please explain -- what do you like about this guy? He's not a good player, signed for 4 endless and unproductive years, old enough that he is who he is as a player. Not to mention that he is unhappy if he's not with his twin brother. I mean... really I just don't get it at all.
