I would have much rather signed Josh Smith over Anderson. If we had Anderson in our sights, Neal was useless.

I have a feeling we are trading our 2016 1st+Webster for an expiring big :(

If wiz plan to play a lot of Porter and Duds at PF it creates minutes for Neal and Anderson at SG and SF. If there's no deal in the works for a big that's the only way this signing makes sense.

Anderson made a little under a million last year, could somebody tell me wtf he did with Brooklyn last year that justifies a $4 million contract???

He torched the Hawks in the playoffs. He posted a .56 TS% in the regular season. He's a good defender according to DRPM. Nets fans seem to generally like him and say he's a good glue guy. Honestly the price tag seems fair, it's the position he plays that's the issue.

You beat me to it, this was going to be my next point. I checked the taps and tweets, there was no other team interested in Anderson. The Nets wanted to being him back, but not at $4 mil apparently. We had Neal already, this doesn't make sense given that Randy does not like to play Blair.

Hope this doesn't keep us from signing Gooden... that would really suck

Yeah, well, I didn't bother talking about his position because... Grunfeld.

Never met a small forward he didn't want to sign.

He deserves more than 4 million, honestly. He provides leadership, grit, makes big shots, very solid three point shooter and very good defender. Ranks 6th in DRPM among SGs. He's an emotional leader like KG, Pierce, etc. Gets the fans fired up with hustle plays and altercations.

He turned down a lot of offers to stay with the Nets last season for the minimum. So, his 4 million is well deserved. You'll warm up to him.

it probably won't. Wouldn't be surprised if they used the renaming MLE on him rather than the vet minimum. Gooden gets a raise while EG take his month long vacation to Europe and calls it an offseason.

Honestly, deserves has absolutely **** all to do with it.

The Wizards have a glut of wings and a gaping hole at PF. The Wizards needed to commit $4 million dollars to yet another SF about as much as I need a second **** on my elbow.

Our only youngish big on the roster just happens to be one with no knees and can't play defense. #SoWizards

Maybe Blair should try and get down to about 220 and he can try and play some SF.

Seems this year the Wizards want wings.

Kind of like how the Bad Boy Piston teams had the Microwave, we picked up a guy who is not great, not young but he can get hot on any given night and destroy team from 3. You need a couple of guys on the team that can get hot, you're not going to depend on them, but they can set you apart or give you a lift when you seen it.

Again, I think they are planning on moving Otto to full time starting 4. NENE if not traded will be Gortats back up. The big issue we ran into when beal went down was we only had temple to back him up.... well we fixed that! Also I think Webby and Blar are on the move for a big, and I really feel like Famous has a decent chance of being the next Whiteside.

MFer is profane. When you put the word stupid in front of it, it's even more derogatory. If I say Ernie is a _ _ with the derogatory stuff in front, it pretty much encapsulates my feelings.

Anderson right after Dudley is sort of like Blair right after Humphries, with Seraphin resigned as a coach's favorite.

I wish I had allegiance with another NBA franchise that didn't have Grunfeld as GM or Ted Leonsis as ownership. The moves he makes are frustrating as hell. Draft Portis or Looney just made too damned much sense for this s m f er to do.

Makes no sense. Not sure what's worse, adding yet another wing or the fact I keep getting re-directed to another link from the wizards board home page on my phone's browser.

If so, then if it works ... great.

I'll STILL SAY the should have drafted Portis or Looney, because they ALSO CAN PLAY PF. :banghead:

Even after basically not watching the draft, and maybe only spending a couple hours on the board the past couple weeks, this kind of thing makes my head hurt. :(
