Nice post up from Noel over Hump. He still needs to develop an 18-footer to be a nice complement to Okafor, though.

Otto's stroke looks so much cleaner now. Still looks a bit unorthodox but his hitch is gone.

(meanwhile, the CHI announcers appear to be excited about Portis. I haven't seen much, but he stepped into a nice 18 footer that he drained to finish the quarter)

Hump's ability to create off a pump-fake dribble drive from the 3PT line will be critical to his success as a S4.

Good to see the first unit respond to the poor first half by putting together a huge run there.

Otto-matic playing lights out. Quite a bit more pace there with him starting in place of Pierce.

Yep, that there was a 'playmaking 4' skill. You can't just be a tall guy standing behind the 3pt line, it's all about adding those extra elements from that PF position

Yeah, he's always been a deceptively good ball-handler. Now, with his 3 ball (2 in a row in the 3rd quarter), that could open up other facets of his game.

Beal's going to score a lot of points this season.

On the big-conclusions-from-Preseason-game-1 train, Otto might break out more than Bradley this year.

Interesting to note Phil & Buck talking about how Otto has been designated as the co-op "bring the ball up the court" guy next to John Wall. He had a nifty end-to-end fast break floater that demonstrated his handles. If that takes away from Brad's fumbling attempt at that role, I'll be quite happy.

Nice to see Beal willing to pull up and take a couple long two's when they were CLEARLY good shots, and he canned them both.

All in all, I'm happy to see this game going the way it should. Wizards look like Varsity and Sixers look like JV. The way it should be.

Can you take anything away from a preseason game against Philly? I mean...this is pretty much a glorified pickup game IMO.

Guys. It's happened. We have a modern day offense. I can cry tears right now.

Really love the way Oubre sits the bench. Good cheering, great attitude. His sleeves are a little short, but the shiny t-shirt and black suit look nicely complements his perm. It seems that he's adjusting to Wittman's rotations quite well.

First sighting of Otto playing at the four.

Shooting is obviously ridiculous and the Sixers aren't going to be any good this year, but it's nice to see the Wizards make a concerted effort to spread the floor and cutting out those long twos.

Hump attempted 4 3s in only 20 minutes.

Those Yeezy kicks are a nice perk from his freshly-inked Adidas contract.

In all seriousness, Dejuan with a good showing in garbage minute against a garbage team in a garbage game. Boxing out well as always, but also dropping the FT's and being aggressive around the bucket offensively. Had a nice dribble pull-up, and after hearing my previous mocking post, he DID attempt a narrowly missed follow-up dunk, after which he grabbed his own rebound and swished a fade away jumper. It can't be worse than Frenchy, can it? Hoping to see him take a part of those minutes and succeed. My wife sure got tired of me yelling "FRENCHY!!!!!!" last season.

John is going to have the biggest adjustment to make. He no longer has to create plays out of thin air with this amount of spacing. There were several time this game on the PNR where he could have took it to the rim or at least draw a foul, instead, he fed extremely tough passes to Gortat. Gotta make the simple plays. Let the big man clean it up if you miss, that's his job.
