McCollough is the type of player you hope to draft with a late 1st lol. He literally was a late 1st round pick. Plus we got a shooter that we needed, and dumped Nicholson. I can't believe people are complaining about this

We are about 99% guaranteed of missing the lottery anyhow. We are 9 games ahead of the 9th place team (MIL) with 27 games left to go. If we went 7-20 after the break, Milwaukee or Miami would still have to 17-11 to beat us.

The Lakers weren't going to add an additional 2-3 years worth of salary in exchange for Lou Williams.

The price on Barton and Chandler must be sky high, probably would have had to include Oubre in there.

I would hope Washington isn't done. They could still package Burke and a second for more firepower.

I think EG is hoping the initial rumors of Evans getting waived come to fruition. If not that, he's banking on someone with a pulse getting waived. I'm sure this is how RC Buford operates.

Here's the roster:

PG - Wall/Burke
SG - Beal/Satoransky/McCllelan
SF - Porter/Oubre/Bogdanovic/House
PF - Morris/Smith/McCullough
C - Gortat/Mahinmi/Ochefu

They've got 15 guys on the roster. I would think they'll cut House and maybe Ochefu, so yeah, it wouldn't shock me if they're in the market for one of the buyout players.

Also I have a lot more confidence in this coaching staff and developing players so hopefully McCullough becomes a rotational piece.

Bogdanovic is a career 36% from 3 on pretty low volume. Not sure I see the Kyle Korver comp.

Gave up a 1st round pick just to get rid of Nicholson.

Or Mike Miller, for that matter. He seems pretty one-dimensional

Evans getting cut and signing with the Wizards is the only thing that'll atone for this transaction. Who is going to be a backup guard? Sato and Burke are unplayable in the playoffs. Defenses will pick them apart on defense (burke) or wreck the offense (sato).

It looks more like an opportunity to dump Nicholson than really upgrading for the playoffs. The Nets gave up in investing any time on McCullough and Bog is a rental.
This is another EG cleanup that is going to burn us when we see the kind of players we could have gotten in this loaded draft.

I think it was obvious they were going to have to get rid of a 1st to off load Nicholson, just wished it was an '18 1st.

I wanna be optimistic and see how Bogdan performs as a bench player, but his numbers are NOT encouraging. Worst part is, if he somehow actually efficiently produces people will actually think Grunfeld is good.

Incredible, next up Oubre and first to ditch Mahinmi's deal within a year or two.

Fire this man already.

So, who's going to get Bogdanovic the ball, it's not like we can rely on Burke to run any kind of offense.

Read on Twitter

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

First off, yes, EG had to make up for his mistake....which totally sucks. We should be in this situation, but we are, so here are my thoughts.

-We need bench SCORING, and Bogs gives us that. This is is #1
-nice to get rid of our 2 worst players
-Our starting 5 is legit, but we needed some help
-Bogs did kill us, and why we went to OT. 3pt shooting is nice, when he does get some run with JW, he'll be so open
-EG has been so bad, that group think ALWAYS hates everything he does. He's nowhere near as good or potentially good as MM, but that is looking really good for us right now.

Can he effectively play SG or stretch 4? If not, seems to be some redundancy.

He can play both. He's a SG in the way that Joe Johnson was a SG. Big bodied and skilled. He's very strong and got run at PF this season.

He's got kind of a weird game. Gets to the rim with craftiness and strength. Quick hands and soft touch. Very strong in his lower body, good at establishing deep position and scoring around the rim. And he's a good enough shooter to play with Wall at the end of first and third quarters. I actually like his fit on our team and was totally open to trading a second rounder for him. But I don't like the cost we paid to get him. Especially since I think we're going to have to let him walk this summer.

I'm not sure we needed a shooter that badly.

It'll be interesting to see what happens between Sato/Burke. Has Brooks been giving Burke more minutes because he likes his ball handling more than Sato? Or is it because he needs Burke as the de facto shooting guard for the 2nd unit since he can hit a 3-pointer?

If Bogdanovic solves the shooting issue, maybe we'll see Sato play PG full time.

McCollough is a D-leaguer right now. He's interesting but not worth a 1st... he's also not really the player you'd get to pick in a deep draft like this.
Bogdanovic isn't that great of a shooter. It'll be nice to have someone off the bench that can hit threes, but it's very possible we don't re-sign him since his contract will expire after this season. You can't assume that he will either. He also doesn't make us much better.
Offloading Nicholson is the only positive thing we did here. That is not a good thing.

So essentially what Ernie has done here, in a long-term view, is instead of getting a player in the draft who you would have control over for a few years and becomes a new asset, you have a trade where we sent a 1st round pick and a bad contract for Chris McCollough.

In retrospect the result of this trade will be very clear: he's cleaning up his own mess, as many have already stated.

Comparable to Former Rookie of the Year and On Court Fashion Icon Mike Miller? My endorsement couldn't be any more enthusiastic.

Prototypical Grunfeld era deal in that it's ostensibly ugly but justifiable if we imagine we woke up this morning with this roster in front of us and no memory of how we got here. Low potential for harm in that the stakes in the deal are so low. Oddly, though this apparently improves our roster it feels like it even more dramatically underscores how this team cannot possibly function without Wall on the floor.

One thing I like about Bogdanovic is he is more than a shooter as he has shown the ability to drive and score at the rim. He is a terrible defender, but the Wiz may be able to mask that with Sato, Oubre, or Mahinmi out there with him. We still need to find a replacement for Burke.
