I'd like to see them combine two of those three SRP's to move up. Three rookies is enough.

They should go into the off-season with:Code: Select all
Player 2025-26
Poole $31,848,215
Kuzma $21,477,272
Kispert $13,975,000
Sarr $11,808,240
Valančiūnas $10,395,000
Coulibaly $7,275,600
Bey $6,118,644
Carrington $4,677,600
George $2,966,760
Team Total $110,542,331

There's no chance they do that.
Brogdon is too old and injury prone to sign to a long term deal.
Bagley will probably be a vet-minimum contract or maybe a room-minimum contract next year. He's good enough to get minutes in this league, but nobody is going to pay him much.
Holmes will definitely be a minimum salary guy and might not even be in the league next year. The guy looked washed in his last two seasons in Sacramento and Dallas, and his stock isn't improving by not getting minutes on the worst team in the league. (He did look decent in his 17-game stint with the Wizards last year.)
My guess is that they're all gone unless one of them chooses to stay on a vet minimum deal. I suppose Brogdon could conceivably be resigned on a 1-year deal for $10M-ish money if we are trying to get up to the minimum salary.

Or take a SRP from a future year along with those 2 SRPs to move up? Or even the 2029 FRP + those 2 SRPs to get a second FRP? I just think that teams like this draft and will be reticent to trade, very much hoping I am wrong.

Yeah. Anything that combines quantity to move up in quality.
And if no good trades are available, I'd trade one of those 2025 SRP's for a SRP in 2026 or 2027.
So let's say we trade away kuz and Val. I wouldn't be mad if there aren't any other guys out there if we give Brogdon like a 2 year 60 mill with a team option making to a 1 year deal. We are in a good spot if we can't find anyone else to pay next year if Brogdon wants to stay and get one more big pay day and be traded later.dckingsfan wrote:My only fear is that they try to sign Bagley, Holmes or Brogdon to one of those declining contracts. Well again a big one year or 2 with a team option and no guarantee basically a self generated trade exception in a way. So those kind of deals are never bad, it also shows the players that the team cares about them and looks really good on the front office doem a player perceptive. It depends on the deal obviously. Giving Brogdon 4-40 bad giving him 2-50/60 with a team option. Good deal.dckingsfan wrote:gambitx777 wrote:So let's say we trade away kuz and Val. Sadly, I could see them signing Brogdon and not being able to trade Kuz.
