All of a sudden, we're winning with regularity on national TV.

I can't help but notice that we play better on national TV without Arenas. Sometimes, Gil just tries to do too much.

Gilbert had a few good performances on National TV. He dropped 50+ on the Suns not to mention those pretty good playoff games.

I thought he had a great interview on natl tv.

I know he wants to be with the guys now and feel he's hoping to stay a Wizard for sure. I liked Arenas positive demeanor and acknowledgement of how well the team had played and that they'd beat everybody.

Gil's knee just needs to respond favorably and have no swelling and all should be well. If he doesn't come back it's okay so long as he gets better soon.

Yet another word of notice served.

These guys are tight and legit. And they're starting to show real composure. They'll get their share of calls (against anyone) if they keep playing so business like. They're playing really solid fundamentals- and position-based ball right now. Hard to argue against it.

Actually, that aspect reminds me of the Pistons team that shocked the Lakers.

We've been hearing that word "organized" alot lately but it's something I recall EJ stressing for about two years now. Now it's really starting to show and make sense.

Man, just watched the game. Simply amazing. After reading through this thread, I think tkunit put it best - it's not that we won, it's HOW we won. We faced adversity and we overcame. Big win.

Antawn was, once again, incredible and (IIRC) had a double double before the 4th quarter.

Butler came through in the clutch.

Brendan got us off to a great start.

Our bench played well.

Everything just came together. Solid win, and a HUGE confidence builder. If we can get Arenas back in a week....watch out.

I think that's part of the problem. He's done that on national TV, and now, every time he's on nat'l TV, he thinks he can duplicate those efforts, or something along those lines.

I know I've said this before, but I am really happy that we're playing so well that Gil doesn't have to come back. If we were struggling like everyone expected us to, then Gil might have rushed back and probably would have re-injured himself. I think that the rest of the team has proven that they can play without Gil, so he really doesn't need to come back until he is absolutely 100% back to his Gil-ness.

See that's the problem here. So analytical and critical it's tough to strictly enjoy the win, always looking for the flaw. Wiz faithful got to learn to relax and get irrationally happy every now and again. Sometimes good things happen to good people.

Great @#^*ing game gents. Gratifying win.

man that was an impressive win...I thought for sure Arvis would come back and have a career game to beat us.....as it was he actually hit a few shots and looked better than he ever did here but ....funny how many ex wizards are on the Pistons...Dixon,Rip,Arvis,Sheed.

I was really impressed with our scrappy defensive performance. I've never seen this team play team D like that....Wood and Jamison did a great job of owning the paint. Daniels played good d on Billups and hit some clutch shots.

I didn't get to see the game and just caught a bit on the radio, but what was up with Sheed? Radio guys were saying he was out of control with the refs throughout the game - even before the technical and couldn't believe he wasn't t'd up before then. They also said McDyess could have gotten t'd. Sheed hit 3 3's early in the 3rd, but did he do much else constructively? I wouldn't mind seeing him become less and less effective. He and McDyess are at that age where they could lose it quickly.

He picked up two quick fouls in the 1Q and -- save for his 3rd quarter outburst -- never got back into the game. Credit Haywood with fouling him hard and getting in his head a little bit in the 2nd half.

Haywood got in his head scoring behind him, he caught an early frustration foul inside, then he set a walking pick that blew up AD and didn't like the call and that was all she wrote.

He had already had enough of this game and made it all about the refs long before Dray Blatche dropped in a hit jumper over his bald patch. But that was the last straw-- at the other end while battling the youngster for position on the block he gave Dray a porkchop (short elbow strike to the ribs) and shoved him to the ground. Dray looked like it hurt his feelings, ow man what'd you do that for? But Sheed was in Sheedworld at that point. No matter. Tech converted, Wiz win.

Great team win. Everyone played well. Jamison led the way.

But I gotta ask... where all y'all Songaila haters now?

10 pts in 16 min off the bench was really, really helpful last night.

I'm glad Darius is playing better. Maybe his poor play was in part because of injuries. Overall, he has still had the worst year of his career, with a poor rebounding rate and an anemic true shooting percentage. But maybe he'll finish the regular season and the playoffs strongly.

About 2-3 weeks late on that comment. I don't think I have read a bad word about Songaila since then.

Hey, the dude was a no show all season so people busted his chops. Nothing wrong with that.

Now he be producing well. I think everyone is happy for him and the team.

Great win, everyone played well. And Eddie Jordan should be up for coach of the year for what he is doing. Jamison played so hard last night I feel bad for ever calling him soft.

EJ is going to get some competition, and rightfully so, from the
Mo Cheeks backers. Who thought even as late as the first of the year
that Philly would not just make the playoffs but be as high as 6th
as they are right now?

Our late-season tilts with Philly should have a ton of spice to them.

Agreed. We stopped hating because he stopped playing like garbage. Makes sense, da?
