Wow, you don't see too many players admit when they stink it up. I forgive Marcin for tonight. Can't help but like the guy. Wonder what a truthful Maynor tweet would look like

truthful Maynor tweet would be one of incredible gratitude that he has a 2 year contract

Gortat block on Smith. My fav play of the game. Bad outing by him, but that takes major shoulder/arm strength to hold that back.

I'd do anything to not have his Harden-esque defense on this team.

This sounds like typical group think mentality. While his reputation as a defender is poor, his synergy stats say otherwise. He even ranks higher then Dwight on defensive PPP this season.

That stat could be misleading though, considering the short list of good scoring power forwards in the east this season. Also, he has Drummond to help him on defense when he needs him.

i think we need to bring in a point guard. As bad as Maynor is...the otto porter look a like is just as bad

...what? I thought Temple played great defense tonight and did a good job moving the ball around. I know stats aren't everything but he finished with +17. Please don't compare him to Maynor.

Monroe would be an upgrade over Gortat but not dramatically so.

It's a shame we weren't able to pry Cousins from Sac before he proved he was worth the max. We'd be a nightmare with him at C.

Please stop spewing arguments based off fan/media rhetoric. As seen tonight, Drummond is not a good help defender. He's a solid man to man defender due to his size and has the potential to be an elite DOPY candidate but he is not there yet. Meanwhile, Monroe's ranked 9th in defensive post PPP (on synergy). I'm not saying he's a good defender but I'm not ready to conceded my opinion that he's as bad as everyone makes him out to be.

I'm personally not impressed with Monroe. Yes, he'll destroy weaker frontlines like ours, but against good frontlines, he's not nearly as effective. And he is not a good defender...he doesn't block shots and he's a poor on the ball defender. He is nowhere near the max, and we should not be dumb enough to offer it.

say what you will about Gortat but 2 of the biggest plays in our recent streak were his block tonight and his block on Sullinger at the end of the C's game. Then after both blocks, Wall made the play on the other end to put us up multiple scores late

Yes Cousins is good, and yes Monroe would be a slight upgrade over Gortat but their is a certain chemistry and mojo with this team. Nene, Gortat, Webster, Ariza are a big part of it.

I think the removal of young, inexperienced knuckleheads, has changed the culture of the team and the direction of John Wall`s career. Intangibles are just as important to me as statistics.

That was a really bad loss for Detroit. They have to be bordering on meltdown mode right now.

as others have remarked, they are not a smart team. And they're a bad home team. Go figure
on the 2nd one. You'd figure a less than smart team would be that much worse on the road
but not DET.

edit to add - Jennings might be cursed by dropping 55 early as a rookie.
Now he feels entitled to jack at will. Smith is just a head case, kinda like
a rich man Blatche in that he wants to prove how well rounded his game is
instead of consistently playing to his own strengths.

A rich mans Blatche. Good one. I can see that. How is his neck fat though.

I'm noticing a more mature Wall in his last few interviews. Confidence. More comfortable in his skin. Speech is slowing down a little. I think Neo is starting to believe.

To that, I think having Nene available on that second unit is really helping him. It does a couple of things. One, he knows Webster and Nene will anchor that unit, so the first unit doesn't have to do it all. Second, they removed a scorer/leader from the first unit which opens things up for Wall more. He knows its primarily himself, Beal and TA that are the scorers on that unit. That lets him get off faster. Specially if he sees the need for inside points coming more from him driving instead of dishing to Nene. Not that Gortat and Booker won't give you a few inside points, but they aren't the post options that Nene is. Nene is almost like a P/PF.

Adjusting the line ups is making a big difference. The talent and skills are spread out better. And like magic, the 2nd unit looks better.

Re Monroe vs Gortat

Gortat might just be more efficient on O (too lazy to look up advanced stats)
and a slightly better rebounder although that certainly wasn't in evidence
the last game. Monroe is obviously younger. I like the chemistry with Gortat
but Monroe might work out just as well or better in that regard. I'm not
sure how much more I would pay to get Monroe over Gortat.

No to Monroe unless you pair him with a defensive center. Nene isn't going anywhere so even if Gortat and Seraphin are gone, we won't be able to add another piece assuming we make the playoffs.

Yeah but Monroe's rebounding might just suffer because the have two other bigs on the floor with him. might change on our team where are no rebounders.

Fell a sleep during the first half, but just caught the highlights. Nice comeback.

I thought this was perhaps the Wizards best win of the season. Things looked pretty bleak late in the 3rd, on the road, down double digits, and with a string of HORRIBLE calls going against us. It was one of the most lopsidedly officiated games I have ever watched. If I was coaching, I definitely would have been thrown out for screaming at the refs. But the Wizards kept their cool and methodically clawed their way back into the game. I was very, very impressed. This is what good teams do. Last nights game has me starting to believe.

Lyrical, it takes balls to admit that you fell asleep on a close Zards game. You got my props. I put your confession right up there with Gortat saying he had bad game.
