Gortat with 9 and 9 in 17 min.. it's safe to say that we'll be a significantly better team when he is a regular in the rotation.

Just imagine how ugly this game would've been if we were playing our preseason frontcourt rotation

The good news:
- Ariza has found his range.
- Gortat looks legit - especially off the pick and roll.

The bad:
- Nene hates playing out of position, and today it looked like his position was "bench warmer"
- Beal looked tentative out there, and was unable to exploit what should be a favorable matchup vs. an aging Billups
- Wall settled for Js - especially in the first half.
- didn't see Jan wave his towel once. Know your role, Airwolf. Everyone has a part to play.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

I'm still shocked that's it's possible for somebody with Nene's frame to collect only 2 defensive boards in 28 minutes of play.

Ves and Seraphin should have been in there...what are you talking about?

With some of the posts in here, you'd think we just lost game 7 of the nba finals :D

I think that once Gortat fully learns how to integrate into both the offense and defense, then the wizards will be scary. Not to mention that Beal and Wall shot poorly tonight, so hopefully we can get them to bounce back and start scoring some points. We can't depend on Ariza to score like this every night.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us at 1-7 heading into our matchup with the Cavaliers.

Leave it to Ernie to go all in with a mediocre squad whose ceiling is a winless first round exit.

Good:
Wall looked fantastic in the second half. Like he FINALLY realized to start attacking. 20 and 11.
Gortat on offense.

Bad.
Our interior defense is just awful.. but that may have been compounded by the Monroe Drummond monster combo.
Webster.
Gortat on defense.
Maynor. Enough said.

Tough loss, few bright points a lot to improve, hope Marcin will adjust quickly to Wiz plays, with him in the 3Q and at the start of 4Q the game looked winnable, just unlucky Wiz didn't catch the contact were nearly whole game 8 points behind.

To the next game!

I was worried it would take Randy 10-20 games to figure out the roster.

That has been confirmed.

Lakers beat LAC yesterday by not staying with the traditional safe move and instead put in the athletic bench players, and they won.

Randy started Booker and never went to Glen, Kevin and Ves.

Just standard play the vets coaching. Even though they were out hustled for pretty much 2 quarters.

If not for Trevor A and Gortat energy, it could have been a lot worse.

They didn't start driving and getting fouls until Gortat got it going. Would have liked to see Glen is almost always drives.

To much Booker, AH and Webster tonight. More Kevin, Ves and Glen would have helped... I think

Once you guys get Gortat up to speed, you'll be very nice.
Good game.

Sadly it starts with our backcourt. Bynum and Billups just at us up, leaving our bigs scrambling on an island.

Really disappointed in Wall's on ball defense in particular. He made Bynum look like an All-Star.

How long of a leash does Wittman have? Does 1-7 get him fired? I know EG's move is to fire the coach and assigned all blame on said fired coach upon departure.

Actually, I thought our perimeter defense was worse. Wall and Beal allowed way too much penetration by Bynum and Billups all game. Half of Monroe and Drummond's points were from dishes after Bynum and Billups beat Wall or Beal.

Gortat and Ariza looked good.

Wall looked much better in the second half, but he needs to learn how to stay in front of quicker guards.

Nene sucked. I think he is my least favorite player on the team. I just can't stand how he glares or complains at the ref EVERY SINGLE PLAY.

Refs were clearly not ready for the regular season, either. Both ways. Missed calls, phantom calls, late calls, charges that weren't, non-charges that were... yuck.

Good luck until we meet again.

Ha, I just posted the same thing. Glad I wasn't the only one that saw that.

That frontcourt is a beast. Monroe was playing inspired out there, it looks like he took the trade rumors/lack of extension personally.

First and last game that Booker should start. Gortat should be in the starting lineup on Friday, no excuses.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

Return to Washington Wizards
