Ive never seen a game where refs blatantly tried to keep a team in the game with the exception of the Sac\Lakers game in 2002.

Im starting to wonder, should Ariza be our main priority in the offseason and dare I say should we trade Porter?

I was thinking similarly. Is Ariza the best player on our team?
Is he a top 2 defender on our team and the top 2 scorer?
I've seen him time and again carry this team when they needed someone bad.

I don't know if I want to give away Porter. Webster maybe?

Meh, just play Ariza 12 minutes a night at PF during the regular season and then rotation minutes are available for all. If the Wiz resign Ariza, Gortat and Booker then the minutes distribution could look like this.

PG Wall 36 Miller 12
SG Beal 34 Webster 14
SF Ariza 22 Porter 18 Webster 8
PF Nene 14 Booker 22 Ariza 12
C Gortat 34 Nene 14

This assumes Porter is worthy of rotation minutes. Of course come playoff time the rotation gets tighter and the weakest wing would not get playing time. If Porter proves to be a starting caliber SF then moving Webster makes sense, but there's no reason to rush into that.

The real question is how much is Ariza going to cost, and is he even willing to stick around?

Not yet but it's getting close. He's becoming more of a closer. Shocked the Bulls didn't foul Wall earlier.

I love Beal and Wall equally. I have just never seen that kind of true leadership, on both ends, out of Beal in a pressure situation (even games where he was the high scorer or game winner). That was impressive.

Wall still has problems with aggression and frankly focus. I hope that Wall continues to elevate his game. My point was Beal certainly has. I never thought he'd be an actual star. He looked the part tonight.

How does a team become someones?
I remember this debate with Lebron and Wade. In the end, the better player ends up "owning" the team.
Wall is >> Beal.
JW was so active today. Blocks, Steals, Assists, Hussle for 50/50 balls, etc.
He is a scraper. This team is unselfish and works hard. To me that is JW.

Beal was starting to become a super chucker...but slowly he is starting to pass the ball. There were some passes that he made today...that would have been shots a few months ago.

I love the combo or Beal/Wall. I just have so much respect for Wall. Beal has to show me more. If he can become an efficient 20+ scorer, I'll reconsider my opinion...Wall is quiet, but he leads by DOING!

Why can't it be Wall and Beal's team? I'm trying to think of all the great "dynamic duos" in NBA history where one player wasnt the star on the team, and it was shared by two (or more) fairly equally. Off the top of my head, it seems like it is usually a big and a guard, i.e. Malone/Stockton's Jazz, Kemp/Payton's Sonics, or Shaq/Kobe's Lakers. I can think of plenty of duos who were big/small or even big/big.

I can't think of any teams where two back court buddies were the stars of the show and shared the mantle together. There's Isiah and Dumars, but it was definitely more Isiah's team. Clyde and Terry Porter? Kidd and Carter? It seems like a very rare occurrence, and I'm probably getting ahead of myself talking about it at all.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Well done Wiz!
Wish y'all could close it out in DC, but now I'd rather you de-ball the Bulls at their house.

Keep it going! Y'all looking good.

On many other teams, Harrington wouldnt see the light of day. However, we were short one big for this game...so no other choice. The good thing is that the coach saw that Harrington was non-existent on D, and got him out quick. Gooden was so winded, and his legs had very little hops, but I would rather have him in there, winded and all, than Harrington.

So Donk taking care of business. Congrats man.

I still feel they will try to bring back both Gortat and TA and figure it out later.

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

There are other roster spots to add talent. I think they will focus on upgrades there.

And if TA stays, Webster would be on the blocks later, not in the off season. They can afford to pay a premium for him next year then he becomes and expiring. Too bad his deal wasn't closer to 3.5M but who know things would work out so well with TA ?

They are pay a premium right now to have options. That's the Webster contract and that is Otto. With that said, they will have to make it up in other places like what they do with Booker and Kevin S. Should be interesting to see what they do there. I would think they look to do 2 year deals. First year at QO and 2nd year for less. Maybe even for less with a PO if needed. I think both players would want to stay.

Actually Booker is a big question. Can he bring it more regularly and if he does, can he stay healthy playing that way? If you can find Booker plus type, that would be a good upgrade. He doesn't strike me as a player that if moved would disrupt team chemistry where adding the right player could improve it. But he has been play better so it a tough call.

Trevor Booker's level of play in this series has made me look like a genius for being a supporter of his, while most of you were busy downgrading him.... :D

Then again... Taj Gibson has played like an all star in this series, making me look like an idiot for downgrading him....

Oh well, 1 out of 2 isn't bad, right?

All the best Donk!

One of my favorite memories was watching Gilbert torch the Suns and Lakers with my two week old boy snuggled on my chest.

Here's hoping little Donk gets a similar welcome to the world
