Amazing. the left has basically condemned trump for his rhetoric. But you support Omar's anti semitic hate speech? You same 5 guys guys whine like stuck pigs when I talk about "bankers" negatively :o And for the record, i dont really care what the 4 weirdos think, but you Doclinkin?? :o What's next, Doc? Poking amongst the meats while eyeing the grocery boys? :noway:

And you've NEVER condemned Trump for anything he's ever said/done so why is Omar an issue for you?

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

i not only condemn Trump for being clumsy and not more precise but i also find it childish, and purposefully and unnecessarily divisive. So i condemn trump for being clumsy. And i condemn him further if he is purposefully being clumsy. There really is no need for it.

Let's take "good people on both sides"...this statement was clumsy and not precise enough. Trump works 18 hours per day. He never stops. Maybe he was tired that day. Maybe he was fed up and frustrated with the media overall...(recall...that was almost 2 years ago...and not ready for the constant attacks from the media).

But lets look at what he actually said and meant. And its this simple. The meeting(protest) in charlottesville was about confederate statues. That was the initial debate. that was the issue. and 99% of the people there were there to simply debate about whether or not the statues should be removed. And many black conservatives and liberals were there to defend the idea of keeping the statues up. As well as on social media. Likewise many people were there to argue to remove the statues....THAT WAS THE BOTH SIDES!!!!!!!

trump was not arguing for the fringe 1%(or less) of white supremecists that also showed up!! They were not a "side" in this fight. They were a fringe element that hijacked the protest. And Trump should have known better!!!! So I (SD20) condemn trump's clumsiness for not immediately saying both sides of the statue debate...and further qualifying the statement by immediately saying that "and both sides i do not mean the white supremcists. There is no place for any type of supremacy in our great country. We are all created equal."

But the troll in trump cant help himself. He enjoys spinning up the media who then spin up the left. 2 years later he is still taking victory laps. it is what is. But thats NOT what Omar is doing. She is spewing straight up hate speech of our allies and everyone knows it. I mean hate speech is hate speech. But when directed at those who intend to harm democracy...harm the US...i dont condemn it. So hate speech towards our enemies is fine as far as im concerned. But towards our allies?? Towards jewish people in general who live here in the US? Come on bro(s). You're better than that. I hope.
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Israel has significant strategic benefit to our country. We are close allies. That does not mean they are above critique. I dislike some Israeli policies, knowing they are beholden by blocs of religious zealots and with the representative democratic style of the Knesset there will be always be special interests that drive policy. But still some of those voting blocs are for the extermination of all arabs and the advancement of the end times towards apocalypse it seems. Some big money american christian religious nutjobs also advance those aims. Israel has an impossibly difficult security situation, I for damn sure know I don't have the answers, but

If a politician who was not wearing a headwrap said what Omar said it would have seemed less inflammatory. Still the pro-israel right-or-wrong league would have been up in arms and then it would fade. Mostly though I am highly aware that this is being used to leverage a rift between the incoming progressive wave of new Reps and the old guard who are protective of their moneyed interests. The Pro-israel lobby is one of those moneyed interests.

Me I don't trust religion especially where it intersects with politics. Any sect that believes they don't really have to suffer consequences here on earth --because they are select and chosen and due their reward after death-- is a risk to me of making some decisions that don't benefit those that hold their same beliefs. Fundamentalists of any stripe, Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Wiccan, Spaghetti Monster, even fundamentalist Atheists-- they are all suspect to me. And yeah significant interests from any industry corporation religion or foreign country having significant interests and undue unregulated control or power over our governing body or our media, does not seem to benefit democracy and the interests of the little guy.

Wait a sec.

We're talking about the same person who said things like this:

"All Haitians have AIDS"

"Why are we having all these people from ****hole countries come here?" (referring to african countries.

If we allow Nigerians to come here they'll never go back to their huts.

I found that to be pretty blatant in terms of racism but it didn't seem to faze you.

But nonethless, I'll assume you're better than that. I hope....

Islamic State Lying in Wait for Resurgence, U.S. General Says

Image

The departing U.S. commander in the fight against Islamic State offered a grim assessment of the group’s threat for a resurgence even after it loses its last territorial stronghold in Syria.

“The fight against ISIS and violent extremism is far from over,” General Joseph Votel, the head of U.S. Central Command, told the House Armed Services Committee on Thursday.

Votel, who’s stepping down this month, said Islamic State’s “caliphate,” which once stretched across a swath of Iraq and Syria, is down to less than a single square mile. But he offered a more sober prediction for the future than President Donald Trump, who has treated the end of the caliphate as a turning point and a rationale for his decision to remove most U.S. troops from Syria.

Islamic State has made a “calculated decision to preserve the safety of their families and preservation of their capabilities by taking their chances in camps for internally displaced persons, and going to ground in remote areas and waiting for the right time to resurge,” Votel said.

“What seems to be driving the withdrawal is the president’s split-second decision to send out a tweet saying we’re gonna get out of Syria,” Representative Adam Smith of Washington state said.

John Kelly, Out of White House, Breaks With Trump Policies

Image

Mr. Kelly also broke with Mr. Trump on key aspects of his approach to immigration and the NATO alliance, and said that his top concern about decisions made by the president was whether they were objectively right for the country when divorced from political concerns.

Over all, Mr. Kelly said, his 18 months as the chief of staff were the “least” favorite job he had held, but the most important. He acknowledged that his colleagues in the Marine Corps, where he served as a four-star general, might not like hearing that.

  • Mr. Kelly defended the utility of the NATO alliance, which Mr. Trump has often criticized as an unfair financial drain on the United States.
  • On a wall at the border with Mexico, Mr. Kelly said that there were specific areas where it could be effective but constructing one “from sea to shining sea” was a “waste of money.”
  • The issuance of the zero-tolerance policy for border crossings that resulted in family separations “came as a surprise” to him and to other officials, Mr. Kelly said
  • Of people crossing the border who are apprehended, Mr. Kelly contradicted the president. “They’re overwhelmingly not criminals — they’re people coming up here for economic” purposes.

He also joked wryly about the advice he gave his successor, Mick Mulvaney: “Run for it,” Mr. Kelly said, to laughter. On a serious note, he said, he told him the chief of staff’s job was to tell the president “what he needs to hear.”

It was obvious from the beginning where this was going. The judge clearly favored Manafort.

But whatever. He's going to be sentenced in D.C. next week and I don't think that judge will view him as having led a "blameless life".

Yeah, the judge was clearly biased from the beginning and ignored the way Manafort fake-pretended to be assisting Mueller and lied, for those reasons alone Manafort should have gotten the book thrown at him.

- antizionism is not the same as antisemitism. like doc said, theocratic nations are generally bad ideas.
- no sh*t that ISIL is just lying in wait. this is like, THE lesson of Vietnam.
- manafort's sentence is a travesty but justice gets another bite at the apple march 13 when he's sentenced for witness tampering. the 4 year sentence was only for bank fraud.

Lemme be clear. Biden was a piece of dog crap and basically a full blown racist that was a huge proponent for the 1992 crime bill that locked up the black male en masse and tore at the core of the black family which further propagated the welfare state and married black women to the government instead of to the father of their children. Black home ownership and black neighborhoods completely and entirely decline in the 90's while blacks were also gentrified out of valuable urban real estate and herded into much less valuable real estate by....wait for it...democrat mayors (often black and hispanic aldermen) in all of our major cities. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: During the entire obama presidency. the average black unemployment rate about 11% on average and as high as 17.7% for nearly 2 years. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: That unemployment rate is now :o :o :o about 6% under trump :o :o and it was Trump that has signed the first step act to help get those blacks out of prison locked up by the 1992 Clinton crime bill.

I mean 199...effin....2!!! As soon as they got into office they couldn't pass this bill fast enough!! This bill incarverated black males en masse! Leaving the black women to raise children on her own. dependent on the government for a monthly check. Those children were left to their own devices as females were overwhelmed (who wouldn't be). Single moms were angry. So if slavery and jim crow wasn't bad enough the Biden/Clinton era democrats just crushed all the momentum and progress that the black family had made from 1945-1975. Around 1975 black (DEMOCRATIC) mayors and congressmen were elected into office across the nation. and they got rolled. Completely and entirely rolled by guess who???????!!!! White, liberal, wealthy, democrat racists!!!! The same group that rolled them since the beginning of time. The donar class that likes to talk a good game about good intentions but means to do nothing but harm to ALL POOR PEOPLE.

Biden is just a typical democrat. The quintessential democrat. BIDEN IS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY!! This is who they are!!!! And he's also a weirdo predator that gets in the personal space of women often and on camera. And all of this is who he is in broad daylight!! I dont even want to think of who this man is behind closed doors. :nonono: :nonono: Shame on Obama for selecting this man as VP. Shame! Shame! Shame! :nonono: :nonono:
like i said, its a full rebuild.

Back to Manafort, turns-out that Manafort held the line, he did not flip at all and provided Mueller with zippo. Mueller and Stone are keeping Trump behind a firewall, the wild card is what information Rick Gates and Flynn knew and were able to share with Mueller.
