I literally do not read the WaPo at all anymore. I hope the loss in ad revenue is worth it for Bezos. Turns out AP, BBC, Al Jazeera are just as good news sources. WaPo was nice because of the inside-baseball editorials you would get, so Bezos is basically driving out all the value add his organization has. I hope he burns in bankruptcy hell forever for the job loss his stupid political opinions are causing to vulnerable journalists. Getting really sick of billionaires buying up media assets to push a political viewpoint and ruin the asset entirely and just get away with it because they're rich.

It was very painful, but I finally cancelled my subscription which is paid through 2025, so I still read it, I feel badly for the hardworking journalist that remain, but phuck Bezos, now Zuckerberg has plopped down 23M on a DC house to pal
around with Thiel, Trump, and perhaps Elon.

I’ll watch but just know there are those imbedded in the Trump power structure who won’t be happy unless they can foment literal war for the heart of the country. Especially race war. Yeah but among the population of the military and police departments in this country and that ratio is higher. We already have seen our Capitol invaded. That criminal mob are all 'patriots' now, empowered and emboldened. With a dozen years of angry rhetoric behind them, told they are losing their country to foreigners and internal enemies. Oh yes there are truly evil demented people in
our country. I'm currently reading Caste (late to getting to that). It's challenging to read even though the
vocabulary is not especially difficult. The subject
material is heartbreaking. Considering the
legacy of the country, some of it very recent,
no one should be surprised that there are still those
who have no compunction about cruelty to
any group unlike themselves. Add in the usefulness
of easily obtaining followers and devotees just
by appealing to these disgusting sets of beliefs
and it's a slam dunk.

6047/5165 =1.171

There are almost ZERO tariffs in any commodity with any statistically significant amount of trade. There are no trade negotiations left to do, the trade deficit is a result of US HAVING THE STRONGEST ECONOMY IN THE WORLD. Import deficits are an EXTREMELY GOOD THING.
