They should win 48 games IMO. I won't be shocked if the win 51, 52 games.

CCJ, some of our fan hate EG so much that failing is like winning 50 games to them.

I feel like I fall into that trap from time to time. It is just really hard to not be frustrated with him.

I have 39 wins... I just think that this team will go through some tough stretches with their lack of depth in the frontcourt.

I would like to revise my win total from 43 to 48.

Final answer 48.

Okay, under a different name I offered a few dozen mostly forgettable posts, about one for every year of Bullets/Wizards futility since Mr. Unseld wore the uniform. My posts may never make the Hall of Fame, but, like the 'Zards, I'm stepping up my game: new name, debonair avatar, suave demeanor, incisive analysis, clever repartee.

So you can count on 50 wins, my virtual friends, or my name isn't Reckless Abandon. (Shoot, that one was already taken…)

Hey... you knocked me out by copying in an old version of the list! Just added myself back to the 44s.

barelyawake is listed twice: under 42 wins and under 49. I'll leave it to others to determine which one is right. If there are other duplicates, I overlooked them.

Edit: I have not updated. I'm just pointing out an error in the last update I found.

People should go to the last full list and update their projections from that.

That way the list stays updated and no one has to go back and figure it out. And you know you are slotted where you want to be.

BarelyAwake needs to wake up and tell us what it is.

I went back to page 19 looking for a post from him and didn't see one. I tried.

My numbers suggest a low-end possibility of 34 wins and a high-end of 48, assuming essentially perfect health (Porter limited to 41 games).

My projection suggests Wall makes The Leap and plays at an All-Star level this season, and that Beal will be better but will make The Leap next year.

I'm anticipating some regression from Webster, but that he'll still be decent. I'm projecting Nene will perform better than last season, but down from his peak. Overall, his year-by-year production numbers look pretty typical in terms of aging. I'm projecting an uptick that would sorta defy the standard aging curve, but I'm also anticipating he'll play only about 62 games this season.

Final prediction: 43 wins.

7th seed.

Wall makes the All-Star team. Beal doesn't. Gortat will make All-Star "snubs" lists.

thelvh.com has 42 wins... so you are in pretty good company - I guess you are placing a pretty good over wager with a huge margin of error of 1 game :)

One other thought -- Vegas set it's line before Okafor got hurt and the Wizards traded for Gortat. When I get back to my spreadsheet, I'll check and see what the projection would've been with Okafor instead of Gorat. I wonder if it'll be 42. :)

I just posted the Vegas odds above from 10/28. I might of misunderstood your comment.

We went from 42 to 40.5

Oh. I was thinking of the original Vegas number, which was 42. I'm still curious what the numbers will say with Okafor instead of Gortat.

The over/under is now 40.5 with Gortat. You would have to wire money to Vegas. There are offshore sites that will take a debit card.

Just call one of the hotels in Vegas.

They should win 48 games IMO. I won't be shocked if the win 51, 52 games.

Who is the back-up center behind Gortat? (Big man coming off a foot injury, no longer working with the PHX genius trainers).

Who's behind Nene? (Big man with a foot injury. Played soccer on it over the summer in order to "rest" it from the pounding of the hardwood)

And starting at Point Guard: A player who missed half the games with a stress injury. Who 3-4 times a game has to pick himself off the floor after a drive to the basket.

Beal also has proven reckless and fragile (ankle and back injuries) but I'm less concerned since we do have some make-do options at 2-guard (Webster, Rice, Riza) and I suspect we'll see an adjustment in playstyle from Beal now that we do have interior attack options and a spread floor possible.

But so, loss of games for whatever reason by Nene, Gortat, or John mean losses. Which puts a significant burden on the Washington Wizards trainers to keep all three upright and healthy for 82 games.

So you ask why posters are not more sanguine?

Re read the sentence before that -- specifically the words that suggest we're relying on the skill and abilities of the Washington Wizards health conditioning and training staff.

Otherwise we're possibly looking at a starting line-up at some point of:

Eric Maynor
Somebody
The other guy
Kevin Seraphin
Whichever Big is Healthy.

Pretty sure that will permanently put that "WTF" look he gets on Coach Wittman's face.

Return to Washington Wizards
