Easy. Dwight wanted more money, he wanted to start, he has a worse injury history, he is from ATL, and Gortat and him dont get along.

In that scenario you'd obviously move Gortat, there's even a chance the Rockets may have agreed to a sign and trade.

It's all moot anyway though, the Wizards never had him on their radar.

Lakers...probably not. Philly...sure? Why not. They are going to add one of the best point guard talents available in this draft, and they'll have plenty of cap space with nobody to spend it on with Nerlens likely being traded eventually. Finances won't be an issue for them, so taking a gamble on Brad to complete their backcourt wouldn't be a bad gamble. That contract will be a year or so away from ending by the time Simmons and next years draft pick are up for extension.

Would the Wizards add a top 3 protected first round draft pick to this deal?

Carmelo Anthony, Courtney Lee and Kyle O'Quinn for Bradley Beal, Marcin Gortat and Otto Porter
Disclaimer: Trades I post shouldn't make you stressed or angry if you disagree. If you say it's unproductive because it won't happen and we're only allowed to post deals that actually happen, it takes away 99% of trades here and the fun out of the board.

You mean, if we were receiving the number one pick, sure.

Let's say no first either way? Just Anthony/Lee/O'Quinn for Beal/Gortat/Porter

Kyle Korver and Carmelo Anthony for Otto Porter and Bradley Beal in a multiple team deal? No first rounders going either way

No thanks. Anthony's a boat anchor; Porter's a future star.

Of course, Beal's a boat anchor as well. How about Anthony straight up for Beal?

I suggested a Beal S&T for Melo this off-season. Melo is on a shorter contract. We'd have a gaping hole at SG tho. I'd prefer to play either or Melo or Porter at PF and move Markieff to the bench. Maybe deal one of our excess bigs for an SG.

I'd wait a bit on Melo..his numbers are declining in a bad way at the moment.

I can't see why anybody would actually want Carmelo Anthony at his salary. Any more than anybody will want Beal at his. But this exchange of boat anchors would shorten the salary obligation by a year, making the total ground up rebuild that's coming a little bit easier.

the 25+ppg melo was something we could work with

this guy on a decline not so much

I'm genuinely interested in what would happen if you put Brook Lopez and Nene together on the court. Would one of them be FORCED to have high rebounding numbers by chance alone? Or would both cancel each other out in terms of boxing out and our guards and SF all average 7 rebounds a game?

I'm genuinely intrigued

I wonder if along with my smith for chandler deal if we could maybe move mahimi for Henson. Josh henson has fallen out of favor in and dropped down the rotation. But they could really use an up grade at back up center.
Would we swap Smith/mahimi for chandler/henson?

Ted's going to spend at least another year or two in denial before they start that rebuild.

Yeah I was trying to think of how to get a shooting guard for the Wizards in this scenario.

Multi-Team Deal with Washington's portion being Bradley Beal, Kelly Oubre and Jason Smith for Carmelo Anthony (via NY) and Gerald Henderson (via Philly)? I do think not only is John Wall BY FAR the best player Carmelo would play with in his entire pro career, but also he is the perfect kind of player that would maximize what 'Melo would do.

I would say hell no, but others here are lower on Beal than I am.

Personally, I think he is a little anxious to show fruition on his new contract and he was pressing the first few games. But he looks to be in Tremendous shape (looks to be on the Ray Allen diet) and he is getting to the basket at a great pace. I think his value is at an all-time low right now and I have no reason to sell low. I think he deserves this full year with Brooks.

Anthony is too reliant on ISO plays these days, jab steps etc. All that being said I'd still consider trading Beal for him just to escape the contract.

Wall/Beal have horrible body language together on the court (that play where Beal wildly dribbled around, and Howard caused him to step out of bounds, Wall was angry and flailed his arms).

Beal is all hype in my view. After Kwame I've always believed in year 4 what you see is what you get.
