Kyle Lowry was benched for Damon Stoudemire.
James Harden was benched for Thabo Sefolosha.
Victor Oladipo was benched for Jameer Nelson
Chauncey Billups was benched for Kenny Anderson

Were any of those guys bench for a 37 year old?

Oldest one so far that I found was Raja Bell at 34 replacing Gordon Hayward after Hayward hit his rookie wall. Damon was 33 and retired a year or two later among those.

How long did Gar Heard coach?

How did Juwan's career play out in Miami? Does Pat Riley's opinion matter as much as Animal Smith's coach?

I remember who said Queen was not a rim protector. Derik was not going to make it. He could not defend. His weight would be a problem.

2025-26 NBA All-Rookie Second Team

Tre Johnson? I don't see his name.

Many of you wanted Darryn Peterson this draft. Why?

I am totally happy knowing we have Tre Johnson instead of DQ. I don’t have one iota of regret.

In theory, Tre Johnson should absolutely blow up playing off the ball with Trae now QB of the team. Johnson has an absolutely pure three-point shot. He led the SEC in scoring at Texas as a freshman. That's a KD and Trae Young feat. Even LSU's Cam Thomas is a proven NBA scorer after leading the SEC.

Most of what I post about Tre Johnson is just to bait a DQ argument. Time will tell.

Yang looks much slimmer and more fit. If that helps his defense, he might have a nice breakout season.

Queen looks the same. He is a traffic cone on defense so no matter how good he gets on offense, he'll be a liability.

Yeah, I was referring to to DQ’s defense. For him, I hope he fills out to Zion type strength and can succeed in different ways.

It seems to be in line with most of the workout videos where the guy playing defense isn't putting much effort. Still would like to see Queen improve his defense but looks like he's putting in the offseason work in his shooting based on the workout videos.

Yeah listing that as an example, although Embiid is doing much better on a few plays than Queen defensively, Tatum completely mails it in that workout.

If I were Queen's coach I would try to keep him from getting exposed on pick and rolls out top. Put him in a zone where he doesn't have to leave the basket, where he is effective on defense in the post. The coaching stuff had him calling out the defense in advance, he sees the court well enough to do that. But yeah you definitely don't want him and zion on the floor at the same time. Which is a shame, with all his physical tools there's no reason zion should be so bad on defense. I mean, he's a little short, sure but come on.

Queen working on his jumper.

Yeah, he's a good shooter, I have zero doubt he can comfortably extend his range to the nba three with enough work. That's not the issue, he's already fantastic on the offensive side and only going to get better.

This video just another example of why vets are so necessary.....
This man's almost 38 and he's not **** around training......
DQ is learning what he really needs to do to become a successful pro.....
And working in the gym is definitely necessary, but those lateral exercises with the medicine ball, good stuff.....

Funny though, one of the earlier workout videos from this summer had AD fake DJ to the ground. Like literally collapsed. AD hit the shot over him.
