No way 76ers trade away Iggy.

He seems kind of redundant with Evan Turner. Also if it lets them move Brand, I think they are very tempted.

Didn't Philly shop Iggy at last season's trade deadline because of his contract (the same reason why they had no takers)? Also, WireTap has an article that the Sixers organization now views themselves as rebuilding and is open to change.

I think Iggy could end up in a 3 or 4 way deal for Anthony. I also think if the Cavs look decent this season they have interest and a big TPE. I think the Raptors also could use him and have the TPE to acquire him.

Nick Young for Craig Smith? Gives us more beef in the paint and creates more minutes for Cartier Martin.

Successful Trade Scenario
Trade ID #5720738

Washington Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players : Luke Walton, Andre Iguodala
Outgoing Players : Gilbert Arenas, Al Thornton, Nick Young

L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players: Gilbert Arenas, Al Thornton, Nick Young
Outgoing Players: Andrew Bynum, Luke Walton

Philadelphia Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players : Andrew Bynum
Outgoing Players : Andre Iguodala

LAL get some young delth, and a few million in expirings for Young and Al, and rid of Walton's bloated remaining deal. They get Gilbert who would probably thrive in (expensive) spot up shooter role. Kobe does most of the ball handing and typically has the majority of assists in any given game. It would probably be a good move for him, relocate back to CA, and get with a disciplined crew. If Artest and Rodman can be rehabed, then Gil can too. Gil's deal is one yr longer than Bynum, and both have had knee injuries. Bynum has only played an average of 50 games per year, and LAL won last years Finals without him. Gasol can play center, and Odom at pf.

Philly gets a young center to pair with Speights, Holiday, Turner for a dynamic young nucleaus. Bynum and Brand would be a solid combination

Wizards get an all-around sg/sf to pair with Wall and Howard.

I think if there is a chance to get a guy like Bynum, it makes a lot of sense to deal Arenas. I am not the biggest Bynum fan, but I can't think of many young other bigs who would be available.

Yeah because somehow by sitting out most of the pre-season and the first 2 games so far, Arenas has become MORE valuable? Before he was worth Eddy Curry, now we can get Bynum? I don't see how.

I'm just saying that in the scenario proposed, if the Lakers are willing to give up Bynum in a deal for Arenas, we might as well be the ones to get him. Obviously the Lakers aren't willing to do that, so the point is moot. But I was just responding to that specific scenario.

I agree that the Wizards would take Bynum in any scenario for Arenas, I just don't see it as any more realistic than Arenas making the All Star team this season.

I think Arenas making the All Star game is far more likely. Rose and Wade are really the only Eastern Conference guards who you are clear better than Arenas. If the Wizards are flirting with the play-offs and Arenas is putting up his career averages of 22.5 pts/5.5 ast/4 reb, he looks pretty good in the second tier of Eastern Conference guards.

This is Alex Kennedy from Hoopsworld, so hardly the word of the almighty in a well trimmed toga, but....

The Houston Rockets have a roster move to make after signing free agent center Erick Dampier earlier this week and sources close to the situation say that Jermaine Taylor will likely be the odd man out.

Now, the Rockets have reportedly turned their attention to trading Taylor and sources say that thirteen teams have expressed interest in the shooting guard. The Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards and Miami HEAT are among the teams interested in acquiring Taylor, according to a source close to the situation.

Neither of Jordan Hill or Patrick Patterson have been in the rotation either. Their roster is ridiculously unwieldy; you could fill out rotations for two bad teams at the 4 & 5 spots with their bigmen (they have 8 now).

Interesting, as we were the ones who sold them the pick they used to snag Taylor.

In other news, I'm really hoping that Al Thornton plays his way into some trade value. Give me Al Thornton for Marquise Daniels and the Celtics 1st rounder. Al in a contract year is not a bad insurance policy/backup for Pierce.

Didn't we draft Jermaine Taylor? Now we want to trade for him? Yay Ernie!

Taylor, acquired with the second pick of the second round, using the Washington Wizards’ pick, was one of the most prolific scorers in the draft, averaging 26.2 points as a senior on 48 percent shooting to earn Conference-USA Player of the Year honors.

I believe the Wizards drafted Taylor on behalf of the Rockets. So while it's technically correct to state that the Wizards drafted him, it wasn't like he was ever in a Wizards camp or anything.

Young plus future first for Taylor+Hill? I'd do that.

Nooooooooooooooooooooo!

We need to treat our future 1sts like gold. Neither Hill & Taylor project to be difference makers. Hill & Taylor (moreso Taylor) are guys you take fliers on if you can get them dirt cheap. I'd be more interested in Taylor than Hill.

Trading for Hill reeks of the type of move your boy Ernie would make. A former lottery pick with a low b-ball IQ who has no idea of how to play the game. I don't see any real benefit in acquiring him considering the Rockets would probably want that future 1st in return.

If you could dump Young & get Taylor for a future 2nd, I'd be fine with that. At least it looks like he could play.

Return to Washington Wizards
