Having to get a 2nd opinion isn't good news to hear right now. That could possibly mean that this injury is turning out worse than was initially reported. If Wall misses another game, this series is over.

He's 0-9 in the series.

I was seeing flashbacks of Etan....

That is an insult to the whirling derby.

Game Flow is up..

Nene had a help value of 1 :nonono:

Rbs, Steals, Assists and Blocks minus turnovers.

2pts with a net -14

Its amazing Randy didn't put Hump or Kevin in.

Yup, Nene was so bad that even Kevin would have been better.

Oh please just shut up. Your fatalistic approach to this year's playoffs has been absolutely nauseating.

Yeah I'm kinda worried for game 3 now. I hope it's not Indiana all over again. Our bigs need to step up on both ends. Nene has been hilariously bad so far. Fair enough if he's out of rhythm offensively because he's not having any plays run for him, but his defense has killed us these last two games. This is the same guy that schooled the DPOY this time last year.

We did a good job considering we did not have wall. I feel like we can blame randy and NENE equally. There is no reason he should be playing this bad, but he should not be playing with gortat, Neither should Kevin. Why in the hell is Hump not playing. Start Gooden and bring hump off the bench. Let NENE back up Gortat. He at least did not look so bad when he was the only big on the floor. Plus let him play against the Atlanta back ups. Its really obvious at this point. kevin can play well aginst them, and he can space the floor, play D or rebound enough to be on the floor. Hump can at least hit some open jumpers, rebound well, and play good hard D with out making a lot of mistakes.

The fact John needs a 2nd opinion means something is up.

It's like the conference finals tells this franchise: sorry we can't have you ever again.

I think wall got a second opinion to make sure it was ok, not to cover up the first opinion. He almost played and now he has till saturday to get better! I hope Wittman get's his head out of his ass though! It's too bad that the NENE randy thing probably lost them that game tonight! If randy had played NENE15-20 minutes at center only and use Hump. They might have won that game! I don't want to see those NENE - Gortat Line ups ever again.

They're a team where everything has to go right for them to win because they have to work so hard for scores. Problem for us is, without Wall, so are we. We're not a good team when he doesn't play.

That said, I'd love to add Horford to our team. He's a really nice player.

edit to add - Wall isn't just our best player, he's the best player in the series.
His status is pivotal. Fingers crossed.

Watching the slo-mo replay of Wall's injury was not encouraging. Been there and i think it is safe to say that Wall won't "get better" until the offseason.

Will his hand improve well enough to play? Maybe. But when you are playing with a hand injury that is when you realize just how many times your hand gets hit during the course of play. It is going to be tough for him.

Wizards played well last night for 3 quarters which was encouraging. Maybe Wall can play reduced minutes if Sessions keeps showing out.

They shot 42.7% and 54.5%

The problem wasn't getting shots. It was...

Defense..i.e. Nene line ups
Ref... 25 fta to 14.. and Gortat fouling out so Nene returned again
turnovers...16 to 10.. caused from a combination on things. Refs letting them hack all night.. having a new PG..spacing issues cause from the Nene/Gortat line up, Nene had 4 turnovers alone in 27 mins

16 pts doesn't accurately reflex this lose. They were tied with 2min to go in the 3rd when Nene came in for Gortat. Until Gortat returned for Nene, they went do 7 pts over 4 mins

When Nene didnt come out in the first quarter until like 3:40...right there was when I starter to worry. Far from Randy having a quick leash, he actually extended his first quarter minutes. That right there told me, this isn't going to to be a good night of Randy line ups.

Maybe Nene wouldn't have returned if Gortat wasn't getting called for check fouls.

Road, no Wall, Refs, Randy, Nene... that was just to much for the others to overcome.

I would not want Horford. He is a annoying type player. Like Noah is an annoying player. Does he has skills. Sure. But I wouldn't want him on the Wizards.

Just listening to Beal post game. He said something that's a good point.

We just got some valuable film on how ATL played them defensively without Wall. That should help for next game.

Plus, lets not min just how huge that was. People thought this would be a blow out and it was tied with 3 min to go in the 3rd and only down 4 for 5 min to go. Gotta give the team some props for hanging in there with such a major adjustment. And they still had to overcome Nene sucking. Gortat fouled out so no Gortat down the stretch.

Even if Wall can't go next game, they should be more confident going into that game and more settled. And the Nene issue is self addressable. That is putting your team at a disadvantage by choice. Randy needs to make the adjustment and give other players a chance to succeed.

But hey, down 4 with 5 minutes to go, one the road, game 2, not Wall.. Not bad at all

As alway.. Paul does a great job of summarizing the teams mode, expectations, etc.

The wizards did a good job holding the score close until the last 7 mintues in the 4th. Only so much you can do that's when the game was unreachable. When is Nene going to make a basket. The Hawks made too many threes and transition points made it look easy on their part.

we turned it over too many times (> 15)

didn't stay attached to shooters

Hands, Noah and Horford are very different players. Noah is annoying and not as good as
he was 2-3 years ago and has limited (being charitable) offensive skills. He thinks sidespin
on his shot is OK as opposed to an abomination. He could be a fit on a certain team but you
better have players that cover his weaknesses.

Horford can actually play on either side of the ball. Any team can use a player with the
range of skills he has.

Interesting that you choose to compare the 2 since they were teammates on UFL b2b's.
Noah peaked that first year, would have been 1st overall pick. Waited a year and IIRC,
Horford was taken ahead of him. And wisely so.
