Pat Spencer finally getting some run other than garbage time. Not the quickest feet, but he's a deceptively good athlete. Watched him at NW.

No Carey and Davis. There was no mention of Dotson not playing.

Yeah, I'll give this a half, only because there be no Wizards basketball until late September. No watching the rest of the SL and getting depressed by seeing other good young players.

There was no reason to play Carey (groin) who showed enough in three games that he might eventually become a serviceable backup. Helps that he lost weight. As for Davis, I saw that Sochan sat out for the Spurs with a hamstring injury. Maybe Davis should have sat out as well. Not sure he learned much other than that he needs to work on a lot of things offensively, including a left hand and he's not talented enough to play injured.

I'll stay after another interview with Tommy. Let's see if gives some honest answers.

The guard from Latvia doesn't look too bad. No. 35.

Why do we even have all these career g leaguers on the summer league roster? Aren’t we supposed to be attempting to find NBA talent?

Not a single player in the lineup tonight, has a chance at sniffing the NBA.

dont worry, the reason todd sucks is because he hurt his pinky and the reason Davis sucks is because he slept on his back wrong.

...and I thought Ernie was the lazy one, Tommy said he was rolling with his G-League guys at one of his pressers. The Celtics found a baller at pick 53 who looks better than Davis (insert only SL disclaimer)

JD Davison out of Alabama, yes. Not to mention that they signed Trevion Williams undrafted.

But, you have to understand: a weak franchise like the Celtics has to scour every corner if they are to find useful talent. A solid team like our Wizards is in a totally different position. We don't need to think about the future. Plus we can add a guy in his prime like Taj Gibson any time we want to.

Same in comparison with the teams that signed Alondes Williams, Colin Gillespie, Keon Ellis, Scotty Pippen Jr, Kenneth Lofton Jr, John Butler, Orlando Robinson, Gabe Brown, Julian Champagnie, Aminu Muhammed, Michael Foster, Dominick Barlow, and Kofi Cockburn.

Let's hope we add Devon Dotson as a 2 way player. That at least.

I think Dotson sitting out of this one is a good indication that he is the two way guy? Maybe?

By the end of his rookie contract, Todd will be good enough to get some playing time.

Look. Do you understand that this means absolutely nothing about what any other player will or won't do? Johnny Davis or anyone at all?

Yes, there have been guys who played badly in SL & turned out to be good NBA players.
& there have been guys who played badly in SL & didn't turn out to be good NBA players.

Plus, there have also been guys who played well in SL & turned out to be good NBA players.
& there have been guys who played well in SL & didn't turn out to be good NBA players.

None of that tells us anything at all -- zip, zero, nada -- about Johnny Davis. Moreover, if he has a great game today, that also won't tell us anything at all about Johnny Davis.
It does tell us plenty ! That a bad first summer league means nothing to complaining about johnny Davis looking like trash and that somehow meaning anything about the team as a whole is silly.
