Wiz trade McGee+Turiaf+Vessly+Blatche for Lee+Biedrins+Bos 2012 1st
GSW trade Lee+Biedrins+Curry for Rondo+McGee+Turiaf+Vessly
Bos trade Rondo+2012 1st for Curry+Blatche
Biedrins has 2 more years at 9 million. He's a good defender (anyone can be better at defending pick & rolls than McGee is). Get him back to that double double machine he used to be.
Lee is overpaid, yes. However, he's a good locker room guy, productive, and will help in Wall's development.
The Bos 1st will likely be in the 15-20 range.

I was going to say the same thing. Hell, we could even keep Nash and it would be better than this trade. At least Nash's contract expires this summer.
There just isn't a logical reason for us to be involved in this, unless there's more to it.
If the Wizards made a trade like that. I wouldn't even call for Ernie's head. I'd call for Ted's head instead.

NO trade: Ariza, Okafor, Gordon, Min pick
Wz Trade: McGee, Lewis, Crawford, 2012 Second, Future 1st.
NJ Trade: Farmar, Petro
Wiz Trade: Turiaf, Vesley, Mack
Clippers Trade: Bledsoe
Wiz trade Young:
Draft Barnes, Zeller
Wall/Farmar/Bledsoe
Gordon/Barnes/Farmar
Ariza/Barnes/Singleton
Booker/Blatche
Okafor/Zeller/Petro
This trade allows us to compete and play baseketball with actual basketball players, while developing yougn talent such as Barnes (super 6th man, and Zeller (future Center ?) . We also have viable trade assests after next season with Ariza and Okafor expiring, and Bledsoe.
I am in full belief now that we need competent basketball players and am even willing to get overpaid guys for our next draft picks to play under. At this point everyone outside of Wall, Booker and our 2012 pick should be on the table for this years trade deadline to improve the team both short term and longterm.
No that is rebuilding. But Im not a fan of Barnes. I could live with Okafor and Zeller in the post though. Gordon at SG is nice. That is a pretty nice roster. But no Barnes please. And as much as I think it would be cool to have two dudes named Trevor, isn't the second one not producing so well.

Re: Official Trade Thread XVIII
Most of the trades posted here make good sense to me. EG should be able to trade McGee and Young before the deadline and get something useful in return. I will be sorely disappointed if he doesn't.
After those moves, my take on our current roster is:
Blatch - I doubt we will be able to move him. Hope a new coach can at least make him a passable backup next year.
Vesely - I would like to move him but I doubt we can. Hope he spends the off season eating a lot and lifting weights between sessions with a good shooting coach.
Singleton - If he can develop a better shot then he can be in the rotation.
Mack - Love him as a backup,
Seraphon - I think he can continue to develop into a passable backup. Would like to see him get some minutes at PF before we rule that out as a possibility.
Booker - Love him
Wall - Work on P&R, handles and outside shot. He will be unstoppable if he can refine these skills.
Crawford - Will be fine as a backup with better discipline and coaching.
We need guys like Mo Evans and Jeffers to steady our young team.
Entering next season we need a starting center, a starting PF, a starting SG and a starting SF. Looks impossible but maybe not. Our lottery pick is 1 of the four. Our 2 second round picks (the first being very high) might render 2 of 4. McGee /Young trades might give us 3 of 4 and a FA or Booker continuing to develop might be four of four. It's doable but things need to fall in place for us.

McGee and Turiaf for Klay Thompson and Udoh...it's not great return, but at least it gives the Wizards an excellent shooter and cheap youth for the next few years. Add Davis and that team looks better.

Thompson
Singleton
Booker

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

Maybe with a 1st rounder coming back.
I'd probably pull the trigger if it was two 1sts and cash to buyout Fish

Trade one needs top 3 protection on the pick; Gordon isn't good enough to give up a top 3 pick in a strong draft for, even with Okafor added. Bledsoe for Young is fine if you aren't resigning Young. But . . . Vesely, Mack, and Turiaf for Farmer and Petro?
I'm not a fan of either Vesely or Mack but really, this sucks. You just traded for Bledsoe too so Farmer is just a waste of contract, Turiaf is better than Petro, and you are giving up on an early draft choice with a good attitude (admittedly a draft choice that many here on the board begged the Wiz not to take) just to get these two mediocrities? Where's the sense in that?

With Howard all but certain to be a Net, they would be lookin to move Petro and Farmar for expirings.
NY and Turiaf for them and either their 1st rounder (owed to them by someone or other) or MarSwag?
Howard said he wanted to play with Morrow, and he had that big game the other day, so i kept away from him..

Not really feeeling that from either side. I dunno that DEN wants to pay McGee. Also, I'm not as high on Faried as some here.
Not so high on Faried, LR?

I don't want to go too far out and a limb, but Kenneth Faried might be pretty good with playing time .
(That guy is so much better than Singleton and Booker is isn't even close. Said so before the draft and I know so now.)

CCJ is right, fellas...Farried is good. Everytime he gets a sliver of playing time, he produces. That guy would help big time.

8 points, 10 rebounds in 22 minutes last night. Holy 7 game sample space.
Faried's rebounding rate is probably going to be better than Booker and Singleton combined, IMO.

I'm sure Atlanta is just absolutely giddy at the prospect of giving up Josh Smith for McGee...
Even assuming they'd be foolish enough to consider, why would we bother with adding yet another rookie? Cut Utah out of the deal and add Josh Smith.

I say a lot of things that get on people's nerves. One area I can hold my own in is evaluating talent.

So far, you are correct. Faried's rebound rate is 25.3 -- meaning he gets about a quarter of all rebounds when he's on the floor. Booker and Singleton COMBINED have a rebound rate of 21.1 so far this season.

I'm now going to cry uncontrollably for the next six hours.
I really wanted us to get Leonard/Singleton or Vesely/Faried. You know, one above average rebounder who can defend, as opposed to zero.

I wanted Leonard/Vucevic/Brooks... Almost any scenario the armchair GMs on this board came up with would have helped this team more than what Grunfeld came up with after doing his "due diligence."
