Hopefully we don't hear from Gortat for a few days. I would rather he has time to process first..

Keep an eye on missing persons reports... Randy should have a body guard the next 24 hrs.

Gortat had a solid year. Too bad that he went out like a b****. Hopefully he keeps his confidence and comes back stong next year.

I would trade our next 5 1st round picks for DMC. We would be contenders immediately.

Pretty sure thats not possible though

Yeah, saw that after my post. Too bad.

If it was the flu or a cold or something else - I think he could have played through it... sounds like he just lost too many fluids :(

Not surprised there was no interview with Gortat again after the game.

But there will be exit interviews soon. At some point he will speak. Should be interesting.

He's already spoken, said he didn't want to play with Nene next year

If there's any hard feelings between Gortat and the organization, I think they can be sorted out without too much difficulty. Gortat was not properly utilized by Wittman for much of the season, but once Wittman started spreading the floor with Gooden, Gortat's production skyrocketed. That dynamic persisted throughout the first round of the playoffs and in Game 1 of the 2nd round until Wall went down. And when Wall was back, Gortat had another good game in Game 5. In Game 6 he was sick.

So basically, Gortat was awesome whenever we had Wall plus a stretch four. The plan going forward seems to be to continue playing with Wall and a stretch four. Gortat should have much less to gripe about next year.

This - we were basically talking about this in the Gooden thread. Would be nice IF Humphries moved out to the 3 point line. IF Gooden came back as the backup. IF Nene backed up Gortat. Lots of IFs there though. Might even want to draft a stretch 4.

Gortat is a good player. Is he elite? Maybe not, but how many elite Cs are there in the NBA? Good ones are hard to find. I'm glad we have him. Just gotta pair him with a stretch 4 as the rest of you guys have said. Him and Nene might have good chemistry but it creates a bit of a clunky frontcourt, especially when Nene is as bad as he's been.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Interesting:

"I had some personal issues that really had influence on my game and I was really screwed up mentally during the season. But it's my fault. I can only blame myself. Nobody else. I can definitely promise Wizards fans, the whole organization I'm not going to put myself in that trouble anymore. They're behind me. I'm still trying to close up the whole case and everything."

Well that wasn't so bad. He takes a lot of blame himself. Doesn't get into to much detail but they were balanced answers. Seems like he is looking forward to next season. Wall wants a S4. Gortat wants an S4. I'm sure Beal won't one as well.

To bad we didn't get to see Hump audition that 3 ball this year. I would feel much more comfortable going into next year making moves knowing a little more about what he had.

For clarification, when Gortat used "case," it wasn't a legal matter, CSNwashington.com confirmed.

A couple weeks ago some sh**ty Polish gossip website had an article in which Gortat's father was quoted saying that Marcin hasn't been taking care of him and that he was promised some money which he hasn't got. A couple days later Marcin's mother said it was all bullsh** and that Marcin is the best son ever :-) Gortat wisely stayed out of this whole mess but this might be the distraction he was referring to. Just my guess, though...

Nah Marcin seems like the type of guy that would wrap it.
