Who is going to be left by the end of the day???
Robert Lightfoot head of NASA retired today!
President Trump nominated Bridenstine to be the new NASA Administrator in September 2017 and he was approved by the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee in November 2017 and again in January 2018 (the nomination had to be resubmitted when the second session of the 115th Congress began). The votes were 14-13 along party lines, however, and the opposition of at least one Republican Senator, Marco Rubio (Florida), has held up a floor vote. One or two other Republicans also reportedly would vote against the nomination, though they have not spoken about it publicly.

Rubio and his Democratic Florida counterpart Sen. Bill Nelson are leading the opposition primarily on the grounds that Bridenstine is not technically qualified to run the agency at a time when two new human spaceflight systems — SpaceX’s Crew Dragon/Falcon 9 and Boeing’s CST-100 Starliner/Atlas V — are about to begin flight tests this year, and NASA’s own Orion/Space Launch System will do so in 2020. Democrats also object to Bridenstine’s views on climate change and LGBTQ rights.

Guess someone who belongs to the "Flat Earth Society" isn't a ideal candidate for NASA!
ightfoot is already the longest serving acting administrator of the agency. He has steered NASA to focus back on the moon, following the guidance of the administration, including Vice President Mike Pence and Scott Pace, the executive secretary of the reconstituted National Space Council. His retirement comes as a surprise and should force the administration to act, especially because NASA lacks a deputy administrator to take over for Lightfoot, says John Logsdon, founder of The George Washington University's Space Policy Institute in Washington, D.C.

"Either the Senate should vote up or down on Bridenstine, or the White House should convince him to withdraw and nominate not only a new candidate as administrator, but also a candidate for deputy," Logsdon says. "With the president's recent praise of NASA, he owes it to the agency to provide with a worthy successor to Lightfoot."

This is all Mike Pence's fault can we fire him "Pretty Please".

Vice President Mike Pence is supposed to be “guiding” the NASA process. Unfortunately, Mike Pence is mostly interested in whether or not Mike Pence can legally change his name to Messiah Pence the Christ, or if that even matters when running a theocracy.

PA18
This is a report from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
The election between Democrat Conor Lamb and Republican Rick Saccone got underway at 7 Tuesday morning, and anecdotal word from pollworkers was that turnout was high for a special election.

At Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, a polling place in Pleasant Hills, turnout was approaching 25 percent by about 12:30 p.m.,

At the Castle Shannon Public Library, there were lines of voters when the doors opened at 7 a.m. A longtime volunteer said that during the presidential election, it took until noon to reach 30 voters. They reached that number by 8:15 Tuesday.

...

Overall this morning, a higher than normal number of voters had cast ballots at the church.

“Everybody seems to be voting before they go to work,” one poll worker said. “We’ve been very busy.”

The last poll posted giving Lamb a 6 point lead was based on heavy turnout!
This is only from a few polling stations so how accurate it is?

Trumpsterfire. It might be ok to run his businesses this way, but this is not an acceptible way to run the United States. What a disgrace.

Tillerson was the worst Secretary of State ever in that he tired to downsize a organization that is of equal importance as the military if not more so. But with Mike Pompeo it might get worse because he is in the mold of Nune's a sycophant who will do anything for the Trumpster.

There’s reason to worry about Pompeo’s credibility and honesty. He repeatedly misrepresented the Russia assessment, stating that the intelligence community concluded Moscow had no effect on the vote’s final result when in reality it made no judgments on that.

Beyond his Russia falsehoods, Pompeo is known for a hard-line view of Iran — including “rolling back” the Iran nuclear deal — and his support for Guantanamo Bay and the brutal interrogation of terror suspects.

He has defended the CIA’s use of torture during the George W. Bush administration, declaring in November 2016, “These men and women are not torturers, they are patriots,” and, “the programs being used were within the law, within the Constitution.”

Trump’s designated pick as the new CIA director, Gina Haspel, has her own history with torture, including torturing two suspects and destroying videos of their secret interrogation in Thailand.

Her picture in the Post makes her look like Mrs. Cleaver whose big adventure is baking cookies for the Cub Scout troop.

I think my least favorite person in this soap opera that isn't a Trump or a Kushner is Rodger "the Dodger" Stone. But the noose seems to be closing in on him as well !
Stone, an informal adviser to then-candidate Donald Trump, said he had learned from WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange that his organization had obtained emails that would torment senior Democrats such as John Podesta, then campaign chairman for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The hack of Podesta’s emails itself began only in mid-March 2016. Russian hackers were allegedly still breaking into the DNC’s network that April. The suggestion, then, is that Stone may have known about the hacked information shortly after it was hacked — which would raise questions about how rapidly the information was transferred from the hackers to WikiLeaks

April 26, 2016. Papadopoulos is informed by his contact that the Russians have “dirt” on Clinton in the form of emails. It’s not clear whether he conveys this information to the campaign, although he later emails a senior campaign staffer to inform him of “interesting messages coming in from Moscow about a trip when the time is right.”

The person, who spoke to The Washington Post on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing federal investigation into Russian campaign interference, is one of two Stone associates who say Stone claimed to have had contact with Assange in 2016.

Joy Reid and MSNBC in a nutshell:

I'm not shocked though, this is the same person who said this:

One of the most amazing outcomes of the Trump administration is the number of neo-conservatives that are now my friends and I am aligned with. I found myself agreeing on a panel with Bill Kristol.I agree more with Jennifer Rubin, David Frum, and Max Boot than I do with some people on the far left.

The Trumpster had 2 visits and Pence 1 they blew over $10 Million.
They brought in steel & aluminum tariffs.
The Unintelligent Committee tried to clear Trumpster
Not enough.
Was it a huge victory Yes in the case it reversed a 20 point spread but No because it was razor thin.
Plus win should expand with 6951 absentee ballots.
Congratulations Conor Lamb

I was curious how faux news was spinning this, and it's the usual narrative when an R loses:
- The Republican adopted the Trump platform too late
- The Democrat actually is a moderate Republican and moved to the right
- The Republican is a RINO

same ish, different day. But if this is truly a referendum....cotdamn. The country is rejecting Trump bigly.

amazing race. 517 vote difference with 100% in only about 1800 absentee votes to count tomorrow morning. wow! saccone will need to take 80-85% of the remaining absentee votes to win. So Lamb has essentially won.

if Saccone is a RINO. Lamb is a DINO. Lamb essentially ran on the trump platform minus the wall. so this is hardly the country rejecting trump. basically 2 republicans garnered 99% of the vote.
like i said, its a full rebuild.
