Re: NBA Games Discussion Thread - Part 6
Why do we have no games for a week? Are we on a timeout for our embarrassing play? Seems strange to give teams a week off for no reason.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot? Urinal cakes!

The break is for the NBA cup.

I hope the doubters are paying attention to Steph Castle. 30pts, 10rebs, 6assists. I told y’all he had star potential.

Derrick Queen/Jordan Poole vs Deni might deserve its own game thread.

Who is playing center for the Blazers? Why did they even draft Hansen if they aren't going to play him?

Yang Hansen is out with an injury - Splitter should put himself in.

I watched til the half, Portland was some serious ass last night with so many players out, they even had to use our former player for a minute Sidy Cissko (nice stat line) from the G League. The return of the good version of Poole was a shot in the arm.

Really terrible game from Deni, but it's understandable. Stepping onto the court with Dairy Queen probably feels like stepping into the ring with Tyson in his prime. You just know it's bedtime for bonzo.

The Thunder are mortal, slayed by the poise and dancing of this young man, and of-course Wemby.

I don't know if Queen is lazy but he needs to try really hard to get rebounds

OKC might approach Golden State's record 73-19 win total. Likewise, the Thunder might lose in the NBA Finals. San Antonio matches up well against OKC.closg00 wrote:The Thunder are mortal, slayed by the poise and dancing of this young man, and of-course Wemby.
The Thunder has no answer for Victor Wembegyana. Devin Vassell and Stephon Castle can slow down Jalen Williams. D'aaron Fox can score in bunches. Dylan Harper is athletic and can get downhill to the basket. He throws great pick and roll passes to Wemby.
I think OKC could have a hard time beating San Antonio in the playoffs. Castle is a tough competitor. Wembegyana is better than SGA, as crazy as that sounds.

Wemby with a shot at SGA’s play style (baiting for fouls). Ironically, Victor sold getting hit in the head at the end of the game which yielded FTs.
San Antonio is a problem.
Mitch Johnson seems to be a really good young coach. One of the 30-something year old HCs commanding a team. He’s not in Popovich’s shadow. As now Coach Pop is purely in the front office as Team President recovering from that stroke.
And I was critical of Brian Wright. I think he’s poorly drafted. The NBA got him a huge lifeline with Wemby. He did take Castle which wasn’t a purely obvious choice. And again, he was gifted with Harper.
Vassell is panning out though. And Johnson is a rotation piece.
But Sochan is getting DNPs and that 2021 class… yikes.
He did do a decent job last offseason. Kornet has been big.
