Nice stat line, but it's just one game. He's posting a PER of 13.7 and an ORtg of 105. He has improved enough to be a worthwhile rotation player for somebody's bench, but I don't think Minnesota is kicking themselves for letting him go.
His modest improvement is worth noting though. I remember reading somewhere about how some GM's like to explore the "2nd draft" - that is, look for former high picks who didn't pan out during their rookie contract for whatever reason, but still might have a chance at a mid-career revival. Michael Beasley is a good example. As was Martell Webster, O.J. Mayo, Spencer Hawes, etc.
Perhaps our only hope in quickly upgrading our roster next summer is to find one or two of those guys. Who in the 2010 draft class is a big enough disappointment to not be resigned by their current team, but yet has enough upside potential that they could finally figure things out and become a late bloomer? Aminu? Udoh? Seraphin?

^That's why I was interested in Derrick Williams. 12pts (on 6-13), 6 reb, 4 asts in his SAC debut last night

Exactly, Williams was given-away practically.

Bulls just loss to give them 8 losses. We have 9. No one else has less than 9 except for Chicago, Indy, & Miami. We can go for that 3rd seed. Yes its early but so what.....lol

Raps & Bobcats lost today. Now its the Bulls with 8 losses, Hawks with 9 losses, and us with 8 losses. Hawks play at SA tomorrow though and the Clipps after that so we can soon move up to the 3rd or atleast 4th seed if we take care of business

Drummond had 31 points, 19 rebounds, 6 steals and 2 blocks (with just 1 turnover) in 33 minutes in a win over Philly. He went 12-15 from the field but just 7-18 from the FT line. If he could shoot 70% from the line, he would have had almost 40.
That's just a monster night, particularly given the relatively low minutes played.

Curry and Thompson combine to go 13-19 from 3-point range in a narrow win over Sacramento. That's just not fair.

Pelicans and Bulls locked in a triple overtime nail-biter in Chicago. Pelicans currently up 1 with 1:30 to go.

well the Hawks & Bulls lost. That means that besides Indy & Miami, only us & the Bulls have single digit losses (9). Every other team in the East has atleast 10 losses or more. We also have 2 more wins than the Bulls and they play the Heat next so we have a nice hold on the 3 seed right now

That's an excellent question. Even halfway through last season he was a far cry from a franchise player. He did some things well, and some things poorly, and he hadn't quite figured himself out yet. It's easy to say something just clicked/the light bulb turned on, but I suspect he was working his ass off every day honing his post-growth-spurt body and refining his skills.
It's a very good sign for his long term prospects that he not only identified a major area of weakness to work on over the summer, he found a good trainer and made real progress in addressing that weakness. George is one of those all too rare cases of a player's production actually reaching his potential, and it's really fun to watch happening.
