From a pretty funny rant about the lack of defense in Clevaland this year:

Ramon Sessions gives up 1.15 points per possession in isolation situations. I didn’t even know that was possible. Also, Antawn Jamison gives up 1.06 points per possession in isolation, 1.14 points when defending the roll man, and 1.11 points when his man spots up for a jumper. I’m not sure if Antawn Jamison could successfully defend a woman’s right to vote.

Yielding 1.11 points per possession is like allowing your opponent to shoot a TS% of .555 while never forcing turnovers. It's nothing to be proud of, but it's not unspeakably bad either.

Or is it? Hmmm. I'm just spitballin' here, but if the league average offensive rating is 103.9, then teams generally yield 1.039 points per possession. They actually defend a bit better than that from an individual standpoint because some of those points are scored on offensive rebounds. Teams grab roughly 26% of offensive boards and then convert the follow up roughly 50% of the time. So figure 13% of a teams' offensive production is points off of offensive rebounds. That means, teams yield roughly 0.90 points per possession on the opponent's first shot attempt.

So um, yeah, Jamison and Sessions are really bad.

Now that is a great line.

Btw, to the people who argued with me when I said Sessions hurt his teams, believe that.

His conversation is much more articulate and sprinkled with poetic allusions and obscure cultural and historical references, all in an English accent.

First Antonio Daniels and now Javaris Crittenton playing in the D-League. What's Mike James up to these days?

Now this is just comedy at this point. I don't know what is real and what is not when it comes to Gil and his lady but it is entirely possible this man actually needed 4 guns on him at all times to protect himself.

Also, I always knew Gil blazed the trees .. but dealing? C'mon now.

I didn't find this funny, elements have the ring of truth about it. Gilbert dumps everything, kids included to go to Orlando...and doesnt send money?????. Javon(?) Should have his ass in court yesterday.

Have you ever watched Basketball wives? Matter fact, you ever seen Gil's lady? To think Gil would legitimately abandon his family and take the side of this money grubbing hoe is pretty sad. Gilbert got himself into it with this woman but she is clearly unstable and lord knows what will become of those poor kids.

Sad, it's the kids I worry about, can u imagine what kind of father whimsical Gilbert is?

Edit: More on this in today's Post. Gilbert looks REALLY bad.

Honestly, it may not be the popular opinion, but good riddance. Clearly we dn't know who Gil the person was. He tried to portray himself as the victim in the whole thing, but he has a lot of **** going on that we didn't know about.

It's difficult being an athlete, you've got women throwing themselves at you, and I imagine it's difficult for them to say no. But then you read stuff like this, and you just shake your head. $8,000 for a toy car is ridiculous.

Yeah, he's so fat with money that he walks on a $2 million-dollar Great Falls house.

I think:

A. Management did botch the handling of Gilbert dating waay back from when he had his 1st knee surgery, through gun-gate.

B. Gilbert as a person IS a Class A jerk and horrible father and role-model... VERY selfish and evidently cheap. I hope Javon gets a huge chunk of cash.

I suppose when Blatche spends $8000 on a prostitute (though it does seem he sets his standards a bit lower).. or at the strip club.. or at the club.. that's okay?

Athletes make a ton of money, what would you prefer them do with it? I don't see a problem in spending it on your kids.

I don't see anyone except some Wizards fans siding with Wifey in this situation. I think some of you need to do some research and familiarize yourselves with the relationships of celebrities/athletes before you go comparing their lives to your own.

Anyway, how would YOU feel if this man banged your Wife?

Whoa, whoa guys. Let's not blindly accept the first negative article that comes our way.

But the notes -- which appear to be her version of their life together

There's a lot about how Arenas spent his money, based on her understanding of the household finances

Let's take a step back and look at this picture again. One of Govan's big complaints is that Gilbert wouldn't hire a nanny to watch the kids. Think about that. She doesn't have to work. She's getting $8,000 a month just for existing. Her pushing for a nanny implies a number of things about her part in that relationship, and they aren't good things. How can we throw stones at Gilbert for wanting the mother of his children to actually spend some of her time raising their children?

Now, we don't really know much about this situation. Both could be misconstruing things to the public, intentionally or accidentally. All we really know is that neither of them appear to be completely balanced or emotionally mature individuals - so let's not burn our Arenas jerseys over one side of a much more complicated story.

Amen brother. That's aside from the garbage basketball he played on the court.

Andray was also a kid when that happened, was he even 21 yet? Gilbert is a grown ass man with 4 kids. Obviously we don't know the whole story, but even if half of it was true,...the man has just way too many off court issues, and coupled with his on court play, this is disasterous. The last 3 years have been horrible.

Then there's the rumor of him selling weed, I mean WTF?
