If we cut John's minutes back (which I honestly hope we do. I want him at 32-34, not 38-40) then 8 assists is very reasonable, possibly a tad high if Gil returns and plays major minutes. If he exceeds that for the season, I'll buy my HoF collectible plate right now. =p

Lavar Arrington is the WORST radio personality in history. He went on this rant about how Wall's dancing at the beginning of the game was "too long" and that he "hasn't proven anything yet." WHY IS THIS JERKOFF EMPLOYED??!?!?!?!?! NO ONE FRIGGIN LIKES HIM!!!!!!!!

Wow.. welcome to D.C. John Wall, I'm shocked how some of the media is jumping all over him for doing the dougie.

Never listen to Lavar and Dukes when they talk basketball and hockey. Lavar was the king of showboating, at this point he's just a bitter individual since his career didn't pan out the way he wanted it too.

It's tough to make a name for yourself in media these days. Success seems to call for speaking shrilly to the 10% of the market that's receptive while looking like a complete idiot to 90% of the market. Anyone that doesn't follow that formula (objective journalism?) just gets lost in the margins. It's kind of funny, but he sounds like a naked protester standing in front of the White House.

I won't lie, I found his dance a little annoying.........but then I realized my age and the following:

1. He grew up watching LeBron James make an ass of himself before every game.
2. He is actually friends with James.
3. The media stuff doesn't really bother me as much, as the talking heads are literally challenged 5 days a week to find something to editorialize about.........usually the most sensational thing gets picked apart as much as possible from both a positive and negative point of view. His dance and his turnovers were about the only thing that could be spun negatively, and that's all they could talk about.

We've got one of the best PGs in the league, and it's only his 3rd game. That's the only thing we need to focus on.....when he develops a three pointer (and there is no major mechanic wrong with his shot) he'll surpass guys like Chris Paul and Deron Williams IMO.

i didn't find the dance show-boaty at all. it's a pregame intro for his home opener. he's just having fun out there. plus, it's the dougie, which is a youtube sensation on par with the stanky legg, or soulja boi. it's definitely not self-aggrandizing considering he could have easily done the john wall dance.

Yeah, I think I expected this sort of stuff when the guy had a song and dance named after him coming out of College. I never heard anyone pick apart the John Wall dance at Kentucky so I just don't see why they are getting on him for this now.

John Wall looked so comfortable yesterday it almost seemed too good to be true. Granted it was against the Sixers, but his defensive duties (9 stls) as well as his composure in sinking vital free throws near the end was simply class.

He's getting to the line a lot. After the summer league (12FTA) i thought it wouldn't translate to the NBA but so far it's pretty good.

I don't like the dancing. Don't like it when Lebron did it, don't like it when Wall does it. I hope he outgrows it.

You can't really compare Wall to Lebron. Lebron would dance in the middle of games, which just screams douchebag.

Wall is a 20 year old kid in his first ever home game having a little bit of fun. Or do some people forget he plays a game for a living.

As D.C.'s own Wale said, "Hate is the new love."
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Maybe it was one of those rookie initiation things.

Either way, who cares? Its a bit of fun before the game starts while the spotlight is on him. As long as he keeps the spotlight on him through his play then what is there to worry about?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

I gotta admit, of all the d-baggy things LeBJ has done, his dancing on the sidelines was not high on my list of peeves. Yeah, it was vain gloating, but...I guess I just like dancing, and LeBJ isn't that bad a dancer (that one insurance commercial he danced in was pretty hilarious). It could get tiring pretty fast, but I don't really care much about Wall dancing as long as he keeps playing well, and I don't think (based on the things he says) that he's the type to show anyone up or forget it's a team game. He's just trying to have fun and spread some cheer around. My wife and I thought it was hilarious.

I don't want to create a new thread so ill ask my J-wall questions here.

John wall Over/Under (for the season):

- gets at least 18 points
- 8 assists
- 2 steals
- 0.5 all star game appearance.

Only Chris Paul exceeded 18/8/2 last season. A rookie never has. In the last 5 years only Chris Paul(3 times) and Baron Davis(once) have exceeded those numbers. It would be very impressive for him to even get 90% of those numbers.

So bout 16/7 then with 1.5 steals ? Not bad either.

Give me a break. John Wall was just having fun on opening night and the crowd was loving it. He is one of the most humble 20-year old, NBA superstar in the making.

And he more than made up for it on the court. I appreciate having John Wall on the Wizards' team. He will be fun to watch for many years to come.
