Good News: Raptors won! That means, the Wiz can't finish lower than 9th in the standings before the lottery.
Bad news: Hornets are doing some epic tanking: Down by 16 in the 1st half against Dallas at home.
9th - Minnesota - 30 wins - vUTA, vSAN
8th - Washington - 29 wins - @BRK, @CHI
6th - Sacramento - 28 wins - @HOU, @OKC, vLAC
6th - Detroit - 28 wins - vPHI, @BRK
5th - New Orleans - 27 wins - vDAL, @DAL

I guess the Kings got the tank message: Now down 62-44 at half.

I'm going to move all the draft-related posts to the draft board.

How are Wizards tie breakers w/ Pistons, Kings, and Wolves?

Its done by coin-toss when determining draft order between tied teams.

Thanks, I forgot. So they have a shot at 6th or 7th still.

New Orleans and Sacramento just lost. New Orleans can't get more than 28 wins so they will pick ahead of us.
9th - Minnesota - 30 wins - vUTA, vSAN
8th - Washington - 29 wins - @BRK, @CHI
6th - Sacramento - 28 wins - @OKC, vLAC
6th - Detroit - 28 wins - vPHI, @BRK
I'd say Detroit is our best hope to win a game. They've foolishly won 3 in a row and now must play the hapless Sixers and the nothing-to-play-for Nets. I think we're going to finish out the season with us and Detroit tied for 7th with 29 wins. Sacramento won't win again.

I'd be thrilled if we had a chance for a coin flip for the #7 spot. Hopefully the Wiz will stay on target now, without any late game heroics.
Just keep repeating: Vesely and Singleton deserve their chance to play!

Well, Nene, Ariza, and Webster all shut down for the season.

Do Bulls and especially Nets care if they win or not? If John Wow's playing, they could win one or both, and he might not see potentially moving up one spot in the ping pong balls raffle as worth throwing games. But a starting lineup of Wall/Temple/Martin/Vesely/Okafor doesn't really predict victory.

Way yes.
Nene shutting it down. Finally.

The Bulls care. They're fighting Atlanta to get the 5th seed and the opportunity to play Brooklyn rather than Indiana.
The Nets don't care. They've got 4th seed locked up. All they're playing for is to keep "momentum" going into the postseason.
Fortunately, I don't think we care either. There was a huge dropoff in effort over these last 2 games. Of course, with John Wall, anything is possible. If he is hitting that 17-footer from the key, he can score 50. Nobody can prevent him from getting that shot.

Are the Thunder and/or Clippers playing for anything? Perhaps they'll sit people against the Kings if they aren't.

The West rankings are pretty knotted up. Thunder are competing with San Antonio for the top seed, and there's a 3-way battle between Denver, the Clippers and Memphis for the 3, 4 and 5 seeds. I'm not sure how much these teams care about these seedings, but I do know that these upcoming games will have an effect on the seedings. You have to assume that both OKC and SA want the top seed for home court advantage, and for the right to play the Kobe-less Lakers in Round 1.
Sacramento seems to have throw in the towel. Their last few losses have been blow outs. Detroit is the only lotto team that seems to still be trying.

Ok. For some reason I thought that the Thunder had the one seed locked up after the Spurs loss to the Lakers last night. Thanks for the info. Let's just hope the Kings have one more stand in them.

OKC is up 1 game on San Antonio, with 2 games to go. I don't know the tiebreaker situation. It's possible that it'll be settled after the next game

Unfortunately, as you stated, that's a game too late for our purposes. Our only hope is that the Nuggets/Clippers/Grizzlies situation resolves itself through tiebreakers before the Kings/Clippers tilt.

7th - Washington - 29 wins - @CHI
7th - Detroit 29 wins - @BRK
6th - Sacramento - 28 wins - vLAC
Kings might beat Clips b/c Clips have nothing to play for. Min might be SAS b/c they are resting everyone.

Re: How Big Is Your Tank
4-9 and eye balling a 4-10 finish.
Not bad tanking for a team that was playing over .500 ball
Tank early.
Get your grove going mid season. Beat the playoff teams. Lose to the lottery teams.
Then tank down the stretch.
Perfect.
Wall breaks out
Beal breaks out
You found Webster
Trevor A and Okafor both produced
Culture change
Defense
Objectively, I think you would have to call that a successful season for this stage of the rebuild.
The two most important questions mostly got answered and that was Wall and Beal
