Keep in mind, at that point Grunfeld's record hadn't been unfairly damaged by other teams ending games with more points than the Wizards with the somewhat elevated frequency of the 2011-12 and 2012-13. From 2003-04 through 2010-11, ONLY 25 teams had a higher winning percentage than Grunfeld's Wizards.

It would be interesting to grade each team since 2003. For instance, IMO Cleveland has done a worse job since 2003 but has a higher winning percentage- their higher winning percentage comes from the fact that they got LeBron.

With LeBron
- Letting Boozer opt out in attempt to sign him cheaply
- Signing Larry Hughes to a massive deal
- Drafting guys like Luke Jackson over Josh Smith
- Trading for big name players (Ben Wallace, Shaq, Jamison) did not work

With Kyrie Irving
- Passing on Valuncianas
- Drafting Bennett #1
- Drafting Waiters over Drummond

Please tell me, who traded Mcgee for Nene? Nene a key aspect to this teams success. Who made the difficult decision to bring back Martell Webster? Many of whom were complaining got overpaid. Who found a cheap defensive smart gem in Garrett Temple? Grunfeld has this team on the right track and deserves to be extended along with Whittman. Reward these guys for their hard work and dedication that is finally paying off for all patient Wizards fans.

LOL

Well, as objective as I like to be.. he has done it 6/7 deep with Temple and Booker getting it done for now. Now they have to bring Ves and Kevin into it. If we can see that, then we have something.

Booker starting wasn't going to work. Lets see if Nene can stay healthy. Clearly when he is, this is a great starting 5. Its about about what they have after that. Booker looks great off the bench. Temple is finally playing like Temple of old.

Add A Miller and get Kevin, Ves and Glen worked into this, and we might have something. Specially if AH can do something in post minutes. Not every day spot minutes but brake glass ICOE minutes.

EG still isn't great a drafting, but he would have build a team this year that could get extended and built up.

Nene helps Gortat so much.

Clever of you to misspell the coach's name, Mrs. Wittman. That'll throw people off the trail.

Don't dilute your (powerful) message about Grunfeld with praise for the coach, though. Focus on your core message.

Let's hope so. I'd feel bad if it turned out I was laughing at someone who was genuinely touched in the head.

He's just a poor misunderstood soul who was wandering lonely in a cold world until that generous spirit Earnest Grunt-fold turned his beaming smile in his direction. I'm glad for him, really I am.

Poorly constructed teams don't beat the Heat! And they'll beat the Bulls and Pistons this weekend! Down goes Jordan! Down goes the Bad Boys! Long live the Wiz. Viva La GRUN!

Washington beat Miami and OKC last year too.
I think they can/will beat Chicago and Detroit.
