I think Mack really had to adjust his game when he came to the league. EG definitely wasn't patient.
But if we had Shelvin Mack we wouldn't have Miller... I dunno, I kinda like Miller, even if he is kinda pricey.
One of our problems at the backup pg position is that you couldn't bring in someone of Miller's quality because they wouldn't get any minutes and not want to come. Miller understands he is clinging to the league by his fingernails and should thank his lucky starts for every hard won minute he gets. And he's bringin' it.

And likewise, the Wizards are thanking their lucky stars they have Miller. I think he's a terrific stabilizing force - someone I'm sure is responsible for helping them come out with such focus the last game. Hopefully we can avoid the overconfidence we had in game 3 and just lock in on defense and not commit silly TOs. If so, I think we win by 8-12 points.

It's just SO NICE to be able to rest Wall and not be terrified that all the hard work you've done will come apart at the seams.

Yeah, I think our chances of winning this one are pretty low. Chicago will be jacked. Our only hope is that they are jacked instead of intense and lose their snap.

I've been impressed with Mack and just putting my head down in despair watching him play well during the season.
ATL spreading the floor is a huge matchup issue. It's like everyone on that roster can hit a 3.
And they're running the Spurs offensive system to boot w/ Coach Bud and his championship experience.
All of this without Horford.

Thing with Mack is, he's getting good minutes off the bench, something he was never going to get here. He would probably have played 5-10 minutes, if that. Hard to improve when you don't play much.
Bickerstaff: who's up for kickball?!!
Ed Wood: Only if it's the no-pants variety.

That may be true, but Mack's 3 ball has become pretty good and I'm seeing him play off the ball with Teague and Lou

Even though Indy is still beatable, I'd much rather go against Atlanta than Indy. We'd slaughter Atlanta inside.

Not me. 1st off the Hawks present some problems that could make it an interesting matchup with there stretch bigs. With that being said, we should kill them at nearly every possesion.
However, Ive always been a guy who wants to play the best. Now you could easily argue that right now the Hawks are better then the Pacers, especially if they were to win the series but we would get way more credit for beating the Pacers then we would the Hawks. People would start to see our run as a fluke and say things like we beat the Bulls without Rose and then beat the Hawks. Now we could makeup for that by being extremely competetive against the Heat but still........
I dont want to beat the Bulls without Jordan or the Lakers without Kobe or play some inferior team because they upset a big dog. I want all the best teams. I want the Bulls, then the Pacers, then the Heat, then OKC or something like that. If we lose then so be it but I want to play against the best. Now on the flip side, I would like to play the Hawks because they like to run at times but they cant outrun us and I think Wall could get his scoring touch back which would be important by time the Heat series comes around

Yeah it's tough to think we'll win three games in Chicago. Gotta figure the Bulls have one real good game left in them and will go all out to stay alive at home.
If we can match the intensity/energy early and keep the game close, they'll wear down late and we can finish them.

Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

This really is annoying. The Wizards keep trash that is never going to make it and then let this guy walk. He clearly had no confidence when he came in the league - it was worth waiting a bit on him.
wouldn't be that hard to get him back--atlanta wont pay him much
he definitely deserved more of a chance than singleton got but ultimately he played horribly for us

Agreed, not taking anything for granted tonight. In fact, as sad as it is, I've gone into every game thinking we're going to lose. I sincerely hope they can close it out tonight.
You can certainly tell who has been rooting for the Wizards for a couple weeks and who has endured decades.
Some use(d) the word "sweep" and talk about the Eastern Conference Finals like its a lock.
Others go into games with maximum levels of stress waiting for an implosion, and come out of them with grey hairs and pit stains... but thankful.

We are Road Runners, our chances are pretty high, I think.

For those out there who find it hard that we can take 3 games away from Chicago on their home court - that's exactly the mentality that prompted all the "experts" to take Chicago in 5 or 6.
Bullets -> Wizards

Shelvin Mack. Shaun Livingston. Kendall Marshall.
Friends console me with "but Andre Miller worked out."
...which doesn't help one bit, but I try not to let it ruin my current high.

its nice to know we're not the only team that has collapses
I tried to watch a few games from the perspective of other playoff teams--the warriors couldn't hold a 20 point lead either. Eventually closed it out, but yea. And the Hawks almost coughed up a 30 point lead. Nice to know its not just us.
