The American way!
The new changes to the tax code for corporations was just a way to help the huge corporations who were not paying 35% to start with. How many companies move or foreign companies that invest in the USA that get huge tax breaks both by the State and the Municipality.

Of the 20 cities that are left bidding for the Amazon HQ2 only one is not offering Amazon anything. It is the only foreign competitor the city of Toronto has offered a world class city, great workforce, good public transit and Canadian healthcare. The Canadian corporate tax rate is 15% but with far less loopholes than the USA.The Federal, Provincial & Municipality are not offering any sweeteners.

The online retail giant has built its business model on tax avoidance, and its latest financial filing makes it clear that Amazon continues to be insulated from the nation’s tax system. In 2017, Amazon reported $5.6 billion of U.S. profits and didn’t pay a dime of federal income taxes on it. The company’s financial statement suggests that various tax credits and tax breaks for executive stock options are responsible for zeroing out the company’s tax this year.

The company’s zero percent rate in 2017 reflects a longer term trend. During the previous five years, Amazon reported U.S. profits of $8.2 billion and paid an effective federal income tax rate of just 11.4 percent. This means the company was able to shelter more than two-thirds of its profits from tax during that five year period.

Incredibly, Amazon’s corporate tax goose egg for 2017 doesn’t include the effect of a second big tax disclosure: the $789 million one-time tax break the company projects it will receive due to the new tax law. While the Trump Administration’s corporate tax cuts generally took effect on January 1st, the law includes a grandfather clause for companies that (like Amazon) have managed to defer or postpone tax liability from prior years.

Both sides Wizardpride, both sides. I remember a long time ago (actually just a few months) when Republicans said leaks were a bigger issue than Russia. But there's no way that Republicans would compromise their moral positions is there?

And while Trump dominates the headlines the real stories were unfolding.

1) We had weaker growth both in GDP and productivity than expected

Probably caused by our deficits with the predictable

2) Inflation is headed the wrong way quicker than we wanted and the Fed looks to raise rates:

3) GOP is actually taking actions that could really help in gun control

Taking action my arse. More like cleaning up the mess they made. We could start by re-implementing the background checks Trump made weaker the minute he stepped into office. I'm surprised no one has mentioned that.

Probably respond by bringing administration and government power to bear on shutting down Washington Post as anti-democratic (continually attacking elected president) and anti-Constitution (repeatedly attacking Second Amendment by attacking NRA). While even a few of his ardent supporters watch in astonishment, he will soon have 30% of the country convinced that shutting down the Washington Post is not only a legitimate end but is entirely legal under the Constitution, and Facebook and other marketplces of non-ideas will be filled with comments like "It sits on Federal land for free" and "the First Amendment doesn't protect treason" and other low-IQ echo chamber nonsense. None of them will be able to admit that it's just their hero angry at a fellow non-taxpayer

He is already killing the spirit of NAFTA.
300% Tariff on Canadian Aircraft defeated
32-35% Tariff on Canadian Softwood Lumber & Pulp .....will be defeated
25% Tariff on Solar Cells aimed at China but applied to the rest of the world
10 & 25% on Aluminum & Steel aimed at China but will be applied to the rest of the world.
The man has no idea what he is going to unleash in Tariff and bans in other sectors.
The man is a idiot!
