Blazers win. I have to say, Terry Stotts offense is pretty fun to watch. That starting 5 is dangerous and has just about everything you'd want on the floor.

Their bench is still suspect and Lopez needs to stay healthy for them to go far. They got worn out last year due to depth which I suspect will happen to the Wizards by March/April as did it to Portland.

That's an excellent question. Even halfway through last season he was a far cry from a franchise player. He did some things well, and some things poorly, and he hadn't quite figured himself out yet. It's easy to say something just clicked/the light bulb turned on, but I suspect he was working his ass off every day honing his post-growth-spurt body and refining his skills.

It's a very good sign for his long term prospects that he not only identified a major area of weakness to work on over the summer, he found a good trainer and made real progress in addressing that weakness. What's crazy to me is how much confidence he's been playing with. Ever since the ECF when he went head-to-head with Lebron, he's had that 'swagger' of a superstar player. A superstar knows they're the best player on the floor every single night, and they know they can make plays that only superstars can make, and George has developed that confidence now.

A lot of guys work hard, but you've gotta have the confidence to trust the work and training you've put in. By all accounts Wall busted his butt training in the summer, but when he gets in the games it's clear that he doesn't have 100% confidence to trust what he's worked on.

George is just on another level right now mentally. He knows he can go blow for blow with the best players in the league, and he fears no one.

20/20? In Feb 2021 he will be 37 years old, so maybe 2021-2022?

Man, how does Denver do it? They've won 7 in a row and just obliterated Brooklyn on the road, but their team really doesn't seem that talented to me. They start Lawson, Foye, W.Chandler, Faried and J.J. Hickson. On paper, I think our starters are better at every position, with the possible exception of PG.

Lawson and Faried are terrific players. Extremely productive -- they do the jobs necessary to win games. Hickson hasn't gotten off to a good start, but he was outstanding last season. Perhaps he's rounding into form.

I caught the last 5 minutes of the Mia-Det game and I thought to myself if we took our backcourt and Detroits frontcourt and switched out JSmoove for Ariza and/or Webster man what a team it would be...

Monroe looked BRUTAL on defense in the 3rd quarter. I don't want to offer him anything. He's Al Jefferson 2.0. If I were Detroit, I'd see if Orlando would trade Afflalo for Monroe.

It's not just about their starters. Denver is legitimately 10-12 deep.

Looking at their roster, there isn't a single bad player on this team (and that excludes McGee who has been out with injury):

The last guy off their bench, Quincy Miller, is a hyper-athletic promising young rookie they picked up in the second round.

The last guy off the Wizards bench is a 17th overall pick who has been in the league for 4 years.

What a game.

Hey, they don't have great records but there are some nice players on those team. Actually, I think both could actually play up to playoff level this year.

But ...

Evan Turner has been a machine his year. Very under talked about player.
MCW has been amazing for a rookie that was undervalued in the draft. He slipped past my focus.
Then you have Thaddeus Young and Spencer Hawes who are two decent players.
Philly has some legs to them. Its all about the bench. Plus Noel at some point.

ORL
Arron Afflalo has also been a beast. Gotten better and better year over year. Just dropped 43pts
VO - he good
Nikola Vucevic - he good also
and they have Tobias when he gets healthy. Add Big Baby and Jameer Nelson. They could getting it going as they get healthy.

Seems of the two Philly would be better off tanking another year, but I don't think they got the memo.

Lastly, Boston.. They could also get it going and are better then most thought they would be. And will get better soon when Rondo returns.

Oh, Crawford just dropped 25 on 8-14 and 4-7 from 3 along with 5-7 FT, 2 rebs, 5 assists and 1 steal as the starting PG. LOL. Just saw he also dropped a triple double on 11/29 11 rebs 10 assists 11 pts.

Stacking up alright against the other starting PGs. Pretty efficient. And he hardly has any experience at the position. Having a career year. Again. He keeps getting better.

Ryan Anderson is off to a blazing start, averaging 22.6 ppg with a TS of 69%. He is taking 8 threes a game shooting 55%.

Vucevic didn't play due to a sprained ankle.

Jordan Crawford looks like he is being used effectively- I hope it works out for him.

Josh Smith took 21 shots (nobody else took more than 10) to score 15 points. Dude will never get it.

Miami's weakness is their rebounding. A team that can take advantage of that has a chance.

Teams better start stocking some big bodies to deal with Drummonds and Hibbert.

Drummonds 6-10 270 and Hibbert 7-2 290

Nikola Vucevic is going to have to get bigger 7-0 250

There are some big boys in the league.

At least we have Nene 6-11 250 Something tells me Nene is more like 260 though
