Problem with Lance is I think he needs alot of reps he's never gotten and won't get immediately. Those guys usually don't work out.

I still say if we are trading up it's because Rivera covets Pitts.

I hope it's all a smoke screen. I was talking to a buddy about this the other day. Eventually the QB bubble is gonna burst and you're gonna find a really good one for a good price. Until that's the last thing you need I would hold out on spending too many assets to get one.

There's a chance - but only if he's not a top 10 pick. I think they're more likely to trade down to about 25 to get another pick. They'll go LBer over OLine first. My guess is their pick is either Jamin Davis or Zaven Collins, and they lean toward Davis because of his sub 4.5 40 and 42 inch vertical.

Second round - if one of the 3 RB's slips - Najee Harris, Travis Etienne, or Javonte Williams - it's just too hard to pass on them. I don't think any of them will, though, so they go offensive line there - either Sam Cosmi or Walter Little.

Fwiw, Ben Standig, John Keim etc believe Justin Fields is the QB they covet.

Cosmi is gone by the time the 2nd round pick comes up. Some team will fall in love with his elite tools and think that it can be the one to correct his technique.

I do like the idea of Walker Little in rd 2 or 3. It's entirely possible that had he played this year and not opted out, he could be talked about as a top 15 pick. He'd be a good prospect to either compete right away with Lucas, Charles and Christian or sit for a year and catch up

Speaking of tackles expected to be taken in the 2nd, don't forget Eichenberg. He's a guy who has a low ceiling but can start right away at LT and is both a good pass and run blocker. Someone was reporting though that he is supposedly a bit of a weird guy. I also do think he is gone by the time #51 comes up

Pretty solid IMO. Flowers was good when he was with us.

Flowers' 2021 salary is $9 mil. Almost makes me wonder if the Skins plan on trading Scherff - they're paying a lot for their guards.

More likely, it's an indication they don't expect to use their FRP on an O-lineman - though it's certainly still possible.

I think it depends on who's there. If Darrisaw falls to 19, I don't see them passing him up, although this draft is pretty strong when it comes to o-linemen.

Good news - of that $9 mil, Miami is paying $6 mil, so the Skins are on the hook for only $3 mil for Flowers. That's some serious buyer's remorse from Miami. All of his $9 mil was guaranteed, and they offered him a restructure paying him $6 mil up front with the rest still to be paid - to facilitate the trade, and of course he said Yes.

He's still young - just turned 27 - but tbh, it looks like Miami was not at all impressed by him. He's not a sure starter, but at worst - we improved our depth with someone who played very well for us before.

How do you max out a gun slinger QB, protect him.

How do you max out inexperienced starters or a rookie QB, protect him.

This is A good move!

And who has played with our QB. Protecting him. Not a bad move to shore up the line.

Why trade Scherff. Every year we have made do with a patchwork OLine that we don't invest much in. And every year we have QB's who have the yips or happy feet or get smeared. If we have fast receivers we need time to let them break loose. If we have a QB with a rocket arm we need to give him at least to "three-one-thousand..." to sort his options then launch it.

Yeah no need to trade him right now, he's a good player and we aren't cap strapped to the moon like other teams. Let's just go into this year with 2 road runners, a gun slinger and solid brick wall up front !
