& Maluach! How about that kid? Doc's fave (with me just tagging along).

I have had the Suns as likely to be absolutely awful this season. But maybe I've been wrong....

No. You're not wrong. They will be awful.

Maluach has actually been pretty terrible all preseason. This was his one good game, and notably, he was the only player on his team with a negative plus-minus. I think he is a couple of years away.

I don't think Goodwin will help them much. He's really more of a 3&D shooting guard than a point guard, and the Suns already have Booker, Allen, Brooks and Green manning the SG position. I do think Butler will help them. He might prove to be a better PG than Tyus Jones after factoring defense.

Malcolm Brogdon announced his retirement today.

Heck of a player.

Wiz legend Russell Westbrook comes back for another year with the Kings. Probably his last year. They have kind of an odd collection of talent on that team. Hope they make the playoffs.

Kings drive home the point that they are the west coast bullets/wizards.
Can't say I do. Who else gonna shoot?

Really odd that he retired after going through training camp and preseason. I guess he decided he just wasn't good enough anymore after all the injuries. He looked pretty washed in the preseason game against us.

Gizzards got absolutely duped in that Portland trade.

No, we didn't get duped. & "Gizzards" is an insulting term to apply to a rebuilding team -- of whom, purportedly, you are a fan.

Deni...

-- whom, btw, you criticized many times over his Wizards years, just as you seem to criticize just about every aspect of the team\--

...has turned into an outstanding NBA player, no doubt! He's far better as a Blazer than ever he was as a Wizard.

In fact, had he played for us at the level he played for Portland last year, we'd have gotten more for him than the 4 assets we got. Or else we wouldn't have traded him, who knows...?

Wrong sir. I always considered Deni as the best player and the best asset this team had in the past 3 years. Never would I have traded him for a couple mid round picks and a broken down vet on his last legs, but somehow they thought that was a good trade.

Anyway, I stand by what I said and will continue to do so. The Gizzards got duped.

Nor did I expect otherwise from you.

Back in the Ernie/Tommy era, I enjoyed the tongue-lashings you handed out to a team that more than deserved them -- had earned them & worse in return for almost a decade & a half of (overall) astonishing ineptitude.

We're in a different world now, & I don't see the point of it any more -- though it goes w/o saying that you have a perfect right to any attitude you choose to take, whether warranted or not, whether it pleases me or not.

As to Deni himself, like you I recognize what an outstanding player he has become.

Deni is now averaging 24.1 points per game on a .629 TS% in 33 minutes a game. Per 36, that's 26.3 points per game on excellent efficiency. He is currently ranked 16th in the league among minutes qualifiers in points per minute.

Deni's shooting at career high percentages -- 2's, 3's & FTAs. With the result that his TS% is incredibly high (63%)

OTOH, his rebounding is slightly down (meh...) -- & his turnovers are very high.

I want to see how he does tonight versus OKC and that juggernaut.

PIF is right though, got to get those TOs down. He's had a lot to start off games, with some that feel that he's not quite mentally warmed up for the game. Also not crazy surprising that his rebounding is down a bit, POR so far given up a high FG% to their opponents, one of the worst in the league I believe. That said, they are rocking the second hardest SOS (.597) thus far in the league only trailing SAC (.600) by a smidge which will likely change after tonight as they play OKC.

Still looks like he's coasting a bit out there though, looks to be pacing himself.

Rashard Lewis: "Welcome to hell."

That pretty much sums up this franchise in a nutshell. Hilarious insight from Bibby.
